Mains 2019 Preparation and Discussion Thread
Now that 1 week is over, it is time to shift focus to Mains. With barely 103 days left there is no time to waste.

The essay on AI was quite specific and it was difficult to fill 12 pages in that narrow range.
Let me tell you guys what i have done.
I have written about threats posed by AI and also its Potential.
However i have focused more on the threat of jobless future ,(Dehumanisation of Industries) or better job opportunities through reskilling and upskilling.
Apart from this i have mentioned all the 1st, 2nd , 3rd & the 4th Industrial revolution.
Yes, i have also mentioned that the same things were also said about computers in the 1990s but India now exports IT services worth $110 Bn.
Aur bhi cheezein likhi hain.
The central idea is that other relevant things can be mentioned even if the essay asks about something specific.
Eagerly waiting for others' views.

For education I wrote d shloka raja pujyate wala which means I king is honoured only in his own dominion but a learned person is honoured throughout d world...out of context to nah Ho gaya?
Has anyone seen Vinay sir's analysis of mains(InsightsonIndia) ? He is doing a lot of fear mongering regarding people with left/liberal outlook being punished in GS1/Essay/Interview.
Many people did have unexpectedly low score in GS1 , according to him it was the direct result of the examples cited in communalism question.

Wrong analysis. Don't give much attention to these coaching institutes. U can analyse better than them. Many of them never cleared even prelims..
@dr-ahmednaaz8567100% agree. Nonsensical analysis. As if right wing controls UPSC and it's pool of evaluators.
@Dijkstrabeing too right or too left is actually harmful, centrist and rational outlook is rewarding no matter who checks, the best answercopy is one which does not reflect ideological biases and has sound opinions which are balanced between stakeholders,etc

@sat_009Actually in such subjective exams your opinions does have a tendency to lean either right or left, However I too disagree with insights analysis. According to him in the biased media essay we should take a stand that Indian media is not biased and is not a threat, which I find quite ridiculous and irrelevant to the theme of the essay.
@Dijkstrathe said topic is there in paper only because our media isn't a watchdog of democracy anymore... pathetic line of thinking by Insights...spreading lies just to enrol 4 more kids.
I hope UPSC is not looking for 'yes sir, yes maam' types only..though looking around, one can only hope that such is not the case..

This is the video, I find the analysis of few essays quite hilarious to be honest (Biased media one at around 34 minutes)

@bevancomThe question was on primary healthcare and not health in general. Hope you stuck to primary health. I personally didn't have enough top drawer content on primary healthcare so skipped that one.

I think in the essay one had to presume that the media is biased and in d main body one had to show how it is affecting democracy. Like showing too much of saas bahu, cricket, bollybood but emphasis less on core issues like water crisis, etc. Though I have not written on this topic.
