Mains 2019 Preparation and Discussion Thread
Now that 1 week is over, it is time to shift focus to Mains. With barely 103 days left there is no time to waste.
And I'm feeling that this debate is getting a bit hostile so I suggest everyone should stop tagging individuals and address your views to this platform collectively.
Many of us have raised a concern about linking NRC and cab, but the two are very different things.
I think the Assam example has proved that Hindus face just as much risk of being excluded from NRC as Muslims. The contention is that Hindus will get citizenship back through cab while Muslims will be excluded. This is not the case my friends.
For a Hindu/Sikh/Jain/Buddhist/Christian/Parsee to get back citizenship through CAB, he'll have to prove that he is a citizen of Afghanistan, Pakistan or Bangladesh and that he entered India before 31st December 2014. How can anybody think that proving this is easier than proving your indian citizenship?
If person like Amit Shah is evaluator I will write this one only. But I know the same funtellectuals evaluates.
Violence begets violence is half truth but read JUST WAR THEORY as well. Read any scriptures n violence per se is not wrong. Violence for right cause is right. Violence ends violence also.
One young man went for an ias interview.
"when did india get independence?" he was asked.
"the efforts began a few years earlier and final
result was in 1947" he replied.
"who was responsible for our independence?"
"there were so many. whom to mention? if i name one, it will be
a injustice to another." he replied. "is corruption the number one enemy in
our country?"
"some research is going on the subject and i can answer with
certainly only after seeing the report" he replied.
the interview board was very pleased with his original and
thoughtful answers and asked him not to reveal the questions to others,
since they were planning to ask the same questions. when he went out naturally
others were curious to know what was asked. he politely declined, but one
persistent sardar would not leave him. "at least tell me the answers" he pleaded, and our friend obliged.
then it was the turn of this sardar. when he went inside, since his resume
was slightly illegible, the board member asked him. "by the way, what is
your date of birth?"

"what is your fathers name?"

@bevancomirony is that when Shashi tharoor ask reparation from England we favour it, when developing countries demand CBDR holding developed countries responsible for global warming we again favour it but when it comes to reservation at domestic level we disfavour it. Double standards everywhere.
