Fail aur pass dono hi sapne aa chuke hai...par bhai kasam se pass wale sapne mein confidence itna bad gya tha...aankh se aason bhi aa gye jab neend tooti...alag hi journey hai upsc ki...
Every exam is tailored on the demands of the duty than merit alone. UPSC CSE had to b as such- uncertain, time taking, difficult situation, pulls and pressure, determination, perseverance to name a few.
For example, effort to nab Dawood Ibrahim, terrorists, criminals may linger for years for IPS. settling boundary issue with our neighbors is going since centuries(IFS), Development is a journey not a stoppage (IAS) and any other services in CSE for that matter. Talent and brilliance alone can't solve many problems.
So this exam tests a candidate on all these parameters directly or indirectly. Few lucky n super talented souls get away in the first attempt itself is more exception than rule.
@Katsumotothe line " you aren't giving time to yourself". Don't you think it is inappropriate? You are indeed giving time to yourself: your core interest, desire, what you as a person really want. And that's why you have delved into this path! Stay optimistic buddy.
But yes, i totally recommend one to be cautious about the upsc vicious cycle and get out of it when it is apt. Life is bigger n beyond upsc cse.

Just a reminder. Don’t give up. Don’t celebrate.
Accept it with grace. Not indifference.
It’s time to take stock. This could be a Chance to break into big league. Or a chance to redemption , to work on ur gaps and come back stronger.
Some may want to move on.
No stage is final. Move on with grace. Move on wiser. With better resolve. And more fortitude.
