[Results] Prelims 2020 Over - Gearing for 2021

Because of the corona virus issue? If it does not happen then worst affected will be people whose interview is stuck, around 600-700 such people I think are yet to appear for their interview.

@neyawn sir and others, what is your take?

This is the official Thread for discussion of Prelims Postponement, Please do not create new threads for the same.

I don't see any probability of any answer to change bar rukmabhai and LISA. Well, lisa pathfinder can very well be the answer too.

@aknash20151351  same drama every year. Last year we had everyone getting 106 n 107 and cutoffs were 98. @Aurelius was pretty serious so no doubt he made massive improvements, doesn't mean this paper was a cakewalk for all or any.be prepared to see cutoffs at 92 93 .

@Patootie i guess you are so high on your score...from.where in my statement you inferred i am trying to be so called "asshat", there are many things we may or may not know. Btw itsjust prelims and it matters nothing in grand scam of things. So just chill

Of course. :)

You could say that "Steel slag contains lime." Not necessarily adding that it is basic science from school texbooks and that I didn't have it. You're probably right, but there's no need to rub it in.

If my language offended you, I apologise. I simply meant that you didn't have to sound rude about it.

Of course it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. It's only prelims. But I'll be sure to ride the highs just like I rode the lows. :)

Good night!

@tss I think the hindi version makes it clear. But that's just my opinion, I might be wrong. Every year 2 3questions have a different answer to vision and shankar. Its nothing new.

What is the cutoff predicted by forumias?

I can't believe I am getting 114.57 by Forum key and 112 by Shankar (Rukmabai question). Wild guesses got correct. But now I am scared af about CSAT.

Nice. Is that more than what you scored last year?

@AureliusM

Almost 50 marks more. Last year I got 72.

That's amazing. Cutoffs will surely shoot up. Many are too afraid to tally with answer keys. I am sure in a day or two, we will see many scoring 110+ comfortably. Not sure why everyone is expecting cutoff to remain same let alone decrease.

After I was out of the exam, I thought I had made many random guesses and was really scared about it. I had set B so my second half was a disaster. 1st part was actually quite easy I felt. I managed to get 38 correct out of 50. It was the second half which got me. Ultimately it's the basics and revision and re-revision is what forms the foundation of the score is what I felt after seeing my score.

What a coincidence! I got Set B too. Really worried about csat paper.

In industrialisation question I think the answer should be railway lines. The 'RUINED' word in that option somehow stopped me from marking A. Anyone any thoughts.

Is there any chance of not writing question paper series on omr?.  I don't remember. Normally invigilator will check right?  In csat .i remember marking in paper 1 .i don't remember what I have done in paper 2

@tss  In constitution,  A person who is a voter has not been used. Voter as a qualification is given in ROPA 1951. So answer should be D, rest UPSC will tell after 1 year.

This time there seems to be a good mix of below 90and 100+.....

I guess cutoff should hover between 90-95...

Btw, a moderate paper!

Here's my 2 cents to all the option confusion hullabaloo - if the max gap between 2 sittings of parliament is 6 months, doesn't that mean that parliament has to meet for at least 2 days in a year?? If so the parliament question's answer is a,1 only and not c, 1&3
