[Results] Prelims 2020 Over - Gearing for 2021

Because of the corona virus issue? If it does not happen then worst affected will be people whose interview is stuck, around 600-700 such people I think are yet to appear for their interview.

@neyawn sir and others, what is your take?

This is the official Thread for discussion of Prelims Postponement, Please do not create new threads for the same.

Last thing to add from my end. Most of Blockchain framework is Open Source. Even you can start developing, if you have the required know-how. I saw someone's comment how you would need permission to change something existing. True. But that is not same a developing something new or expanding something.

For example : linux.

You can literally develop your own version of linux without anyone's permission. However to make changes in something specific, say a distro like Mint, you would have to be in the developer group of Mint.

But you can very well take an open source distro of Linux Mint and expand it as you please, and call it Minta. Just like Preetie Zinta.

Same story with Blockchain. Hope this is clear.

@mahi2501 do you know the actual reason behind this chuztipa??fear of failing in any competitive exam in India is huge particularly these brand kind of exams..our examination process, jobs ,college admissions all are based on principle of rejection and not acceptance as it happens in the developed world which creates this fear of failure..if India would have been a prosperous country without these existing situation of pervasive poverty and unemployment along with power assymetry in the society,no body would have cared about this shit exam ....but alas...

Alteration

Sometimes, the structures of molecules in one fraction are rearranged to produce another. Commonly, this is done using a process called alkylation. In alkylation, low molecular weight compounds, such as propylene and butylene, are mixed in the presence of a catalyst such as hydrofluoric acid orsulfuric acid (a by-productfrom removing impurities from many oil products). The products of alkylation are high octane hydrocarbons, which are used in gasoline blends to reduce knocking (see "What does octane mean?" for details).

https://science.howstuffworks.com/environmental/energy/oil-refining5.htm

It is clear that h2so4 is used to make phosphoric acid fertilizer. There is no S involved anywhere only H2SO4.

@rafael Yes i checked flow of para again.
Desh refers to Bharatvarsha by Deusker. Tagore reference is regional.
My bad.

What I could infer about desher Katha from last paragraph@ desh refer to nation and many distinct things in general like jati, place of origin etc. But constant overlap of nation and Bengal and jatti and Bengali means Specifically it refers Bengal. Just giving my views

@Navya  I myself lost 2.66 here. But after reading those paras multiple times, it's clear that deusker referred desh(nation) as whole India. But in different regions this understanding of nation was inflected(confused) with local region(eg bengal) and jati (this point is truly not in context of upsc question so not relevant). Tagore was against this nationalism, preferred regionlism.

@Rakhmabai This is my take on the question regarding Economic freedom:

I think statement 1 becomes too far stretched an assumption with the use of the word 'invariably'.

2nd statement: No where the passage alludes that educationensureseconomic freedom.

3rd seems fair.

I might be wrong but this is how I reasoned.

@walterwhit3 yes bro.. Even ICICI , FB, or any other website intended to change some interface or say app, why on earth they will take permission?

blockchain technique is more advance than above programming. So I think it was vague sentence that we required permission or have to talk permission.

@Artificial_intelligence Same here. Last attempt. similar mark with optimal at 96.67. Let's hope we clear it.

@MC Cullum  As you can see various applications below, none of them can be developed standalone, everything needs to be CONSENSUS BASED taking in confidence of other party which is the foundation of Block chain technology.

Example of ICICI:
How does ICICI Bank perceive Blockchain as a technology disruption to its existing processes?
Abhijit Singh: We feel this technology is important to us in the long-term, and needs to be invested in. However, we are conscious that Blockchain will thrive only when there is an ecosystem, and other people are working on it.

Prominent Blockchain Applications To Know
  • Secure sharing of medical data.
  • Music royalties tracking.
  • Cross-border payments.
  • Real-time IoT operating systems.
  • Personal identity security.
  • Anti-money laundering tracking system.
  • Supply chain and logistics monitoring

@Aurang_mirasudar reconsider the passage of economic freedom. The 2nd part says when govt decides to tax the higher income of educated individuals at higher rate it makes little sense to invest in education. Also in first part it says whenever lower tax rate it makes sense to invest in education. Don't you think answer 1 has to be in the answer.

In malnutrition passage no mention of pds as such and union govt in the passage, also second option girls should delay marriage and 1st pregnancy is nowhere talked about in passage so 1and 2 not be in the answer

Can anyone throw some light on this@Equalizer @Carpediem  @Muqaddam
