Congratulations… Please also indicate about optional test series…
sir it is still not clear to me
if you have any model answer for that, will you please upload here
thanks in advance
Congratulations sir
could u plz provide detailed strategy of ethics paper and geography optional paper as geography optional remained low scoring this year.
Hello @cheetah. I’ve given my 2nd mains. But got pretty low in Geo optional. I spent much time preparing P1. got 65 in 2013 and 43 now. to understand where iam going wrong could you please upload an answer of urs[test series wala]. I used to get 80-90s in ALS test series last time. I havent attempted any of Geo thought questions nor i used Geo thought and Theorist names in the answers. As a guesstimate would that have costed my marks? As for as diagrams i’ve included plenty. Thanks
Hi Saurabh many congratulations…
could u plz share a sample of your handbook of diagrams n maps..it wud be of great help fr geog optnl aspirants…also did u refer to any particular source for contemporary issues/current evnts in geog.?
Congrats sir
congrats sir,
i have few doubts regarding geog optional:-
which test series did you join for Geography optional?
did you read any magazine for geography currents/ contemporary themes ?
any good source for RDP, ?
plz reply
thanks!
Congrats Saurabh
case studies are mere examples explained in detail.
like when we talk of biodiversity, dedicate a para on western ghats, its flora and fauna
in answers of tribal areas, include a case study of bastar region, its difficulties.
in answers of hill area problems, take clues from north east.
again it depends on demand of question. no “one fits all” strategy.
Congrats for your success! You have one of the best marks in geography optional this year. How many questions did you attempt in paper 1? Any tips or source on handling questions like denudation chronology; zonal point of view question , …I couldn’t write satisfactory answer for them..
Thanks
I have heard a lot of toppers say that they include case studies in their GS answers. What does it actually mean?
PS Sorry if my ques sounds non-sensical
Congrats !!!1
Sources I have mentioned in above interview.
Regarding strategy, practice a lot of question. Innovate diagrams and maps.
Try to include geographical angle in your answers like examples, case studies.
Write to the point, dont bluff around.
Most important is time management, try to complete the paper in the given time frame.
Rely on books, not on coaching stuff. Prepare short notes for important topics that u think are exam-worthy.
Prepare a hand book of diagram and maps
Forumias didn’t have option for uploading marksheet in the interview. Here I m attaching it.
Why ForumIAS is not posting marks of candidates whom it is interviewing.
If possible plz provide ur detail strategy for geography optional and soft notes

Lexicon by chronicle ias and subba rao(particulat topics). Analysing the things is the key.
