Hello,
I havechanged my nameby following the due process of law (Gazette publication) after my Class X (matriculation) exam and all my government IDs are now changed to the new name. Now while uploading the photographrequired in submitting UPSC Prelims Application form 2025,what name should I mention under the photograph - the Class X name or the new changed name?
Looking forward to the reply.
Do you have an affidavit regarding this?
@DM Yes, I have the affidavit and also the Gazette publication for the name change. So should I mention the changed name on the photograph or the Class X name?? (as the application form asks the name as per Class X certificate but no guideline is given regarding the name to be put on photograph if there is a name change)
Hey,
You can write your new name.
I am sure you will not face any problems.
@Neyawn @DM
What is the difference between state and central obc ncl certificate?
Does the central certificate mean, obc ncl certificate issued in the central format by revenue officer(rank not less than tehsildar) of the state revenue department? Or has any other specifications?
The key difference is the issuing authority; a state certificate is only valid within that state, while a central certificate is valid across the entire country.
Issuing Authority: A state revenue officer with a rank not less than a Tehsildar.
Format: Follows the standard format prescribed by the Government of India.
Important details: Should mention the specific Government of India resolution that includes the candidate's caste in the central OBC list and clearly state that the candidate belongs to the Non-Creamy Layer.
