"In fact you left that life when you chose to prepare for this exam. [6] The preparation is your biggest relief from such a god-forbid situation. Also your only escape from it. A few years later, in your thirties – about the middle of it – your life will be a 9-5 thing. But thats some time away from now – and you can hit me a mail how to deal with that mid life crisis later."

It Sums up why I am here. Thank you for this.

"Stop evaluating yourself and asking yourself if you will make it. You are in the battlefield now. Stop thinking and start fighting. The battle swords have been drawn."

Thank you, thank you so much sir for writing this article. Much much needed.

"Don’t think of becoming an IAS.

Think of cracking the prelims with 15-20 marks above the cut off. Then think of Mains and writing good answers. Then giving a good interview."

Thank you for this. Before I became active on ForumIAS, I read one of your articles written a while back. It was about the cycle of a typical UPSC aspirant. The article forced me to ask myself a lot of tough questions. Asking myself those questions helped me when I was recovering from depression. I found that article at the right time. Maybe I found this one too.

I might have disagreed with you elsewhere, but thank you for writing this,@Neyawn

Thank You, really needed the advice and the motivation.

I have been feeling like I have hit a roadblock and was unable to add the vigour to studies or revision or get the good scores. Despite knowing all the issues which aspirants face and how the successful ones have avoided it, I keep getting stuck with the same - Feeling overburdened with the plethora of questions, being unable to revise and consistently feeling scared that others are running much faster. It has not helped that I have been battling depression for a decently long time and it is a real struggle to focus.

@Neyawn Your posts have, luckily enough for me, coincided with the times when I have been at my lowest phases, and it kind of allows to rethink and course correct. Thank You again :)

Yes, the swords are drawn.

In last 4 attempts I have stayed at faridabad and used to commute to Delhi daily, for studying in library or attending classes. But today I have arranged for a room in ORN, will be settling down by tomorrow day end.

I was little demotivated, but this article has again helped me to stay committed. Thank you, Sir@Neyawn
