Hello 2021 aspirants. I thought it would be nice if we can share what we are doing and intend to do with one another here.
This could be a thread for discussing everything prep for 2021.
No one method fits all but to see the plans and progress made by fellow aspirants might help with the finer details of preparation and also keep one on track.

Couldn't complete ancient
Economics PYQ - couldn't complete
made sticky notes for ancient terminology
2 hour session for the 2018 PYQ and tricks
Had so many distractions today - roaming in the fair, sending gifts to my little sisters as rakhi gifts(spent 2 hours in just finalizing gifts)
Have to push the nitro pedal from tomorrow, no more distractions.
Jalebi did I hear? *starts drooling already*
That was nice of you...purchasing gifts for sister. Warna aaj kal to paytm karo hai bas. Ab kaun apna dimaag lagaye, fir anticipate kare ki gift pasand aaya ki nahi. Takes effort.
I have a feeling that none of us is really studying today ;) Atleast I don't find many studying on YPT ..
Wanted to share something:
Today I met three of my school friends, my chuddy-buddies, who have practically seen me grow.. None of them is preparing for UPSC. .. They asked me how my preparation is going on..
I said that I have a lot to revise and if today, I am asked to give the exam, I know for a fact that I won't clear it.
One of them then asked a well intentioned question , "When people start preparing for UPSC, they start a year prior to that. So by the time you actually give the exam syllabus toh cover ho hi jata hoga na?? "
I couldn't explain.. that its not the case.. I just "NO, the syllabus is never finished." ..
Its funny that people do know that UPSC is a difficult, but many don't even realize what we actually go through. The feeling of wishing for more than 24 hours in a day..
Kudos to all of us.. Its not easy waking up everyday and saying "Yay, I'm going to study for more than 8 hours today, no time waste and all".. Yet we do it almost every single day.. IT IS NOT EASY, BUT IT'S WORTH IT :)
The delusion of control
Its ironical how I always account for such rigid mindset and forget that being human (and not robot)has its own downsides..
Had planned to finish ancient and medieval in 3 days.
Day 1 went ok.
Day 2 back pain so became a bit complacent.
Missed daily goal by a huge margin.
Day 3 today pre lunch things were smooth, how on earth could have I imagined that my room's ceiling fan will burn itself, and ruin a couple of hours, with back pain still working like icings on the cake of uncontrolled time paradigm.
So here we are trying to make things right having this delusion of control making plans like gods of our destinies but what happens then?
Reality and pragmatism.
Anyway I don't know but amidst all these chaos and losing the essence of control, my mind always says-you are becoming who you are.
And I plan again just like before, like a heartless and painless robot, and so it goes.

Suggestion No 1 : Dont Talk UPSC syllabus to Non Aspirants. If they Do try to change the topic ASAP. Or Try to Anticipate that they are going to ask these question so before that you steer the conversation in a direction which involves question relating to their vulnerable part of their [One who is try to ask UPSC related Question] life such as bad break up weak finance or weak academics So its like before they make you feel bad you make them feel bad.
Suggestion No 2: Kaun itna Matha Pachi karega! Stay away from Such People
The Last Thing you want in your life is Baseless external pressure
Yeah that’s true. Somethingalso happened with me today. So I went to a shop to buy new clothes (mama Ji and his family came to meet us for Rakhi, Naye kapde to milenge hi). The owner out of nowhere asked me,”beta, kya rha tha fir result ?”I was surprised to know ki in uncle bhi pta hai that I am preparing for ‘IAS’. I said, “uncle nhi hua tha.” He said, ‘oh cut off clear nhi hui’ and it got difficult for me to explain him ki maine Padhai ki thi cut off bhi clear ho rha hoga but CSAT reh gya. Or fir ek free advice bhi mili ki agar mann Laga k padhoge to hoga exam clear. I mean how result oriented our society is! But we all know we are fighters and we can and we are putting so many efforts to make it happen.

"IT IS NOT EASY, BUT IT'S WORTH IT" bhai likha h sidha dil pr lga h ( i mean in a good sense )
@Freakhoto and@Infinitybeyondinfinity arey, they were not trying to pull me down or anything.. They were genuinely being curious.... I am glad I don't have many people in life who are taunting me YET or giving free ki advice.. It is just that like you said, it becomes difficult to explain basic things to people.. The shopkeeper bhaiya would probably not even know what CSAT is , or what the criteria is...
But I do agree, that talking about upsc to non-upsc friends sometimes do make u feel that you are not on the same page..so no point spoiling your own peace of mind !!

Just adding to what has been said above by@sjerngal and others; the most thankless aspect of this prep is the non recognition of the toil and hard work that you put in sans any passing result. Probably that's got to do with how we are conditioned in our education system and society at large. And the gruelling cycle of UPSC just adds to it.
The realisation at the end of it all is, that each person will have her/his/their own journey with their share of crests and troughs and not everyone will understand it. And it's completely fine! You move on. :P
Also, this Jammu weather might just explode my brain very soon. :/

Apparently it rained last night for an hour or two and trust me, it has already become a news item in social circles.. 😂😂😂

I had a similar conversation with my friend when I failed last time. When I explained to her ki I couldn’t make it. She said “ab kya”.
Me: kya kya, yahi karna hai mujhe
She went: okay, but abhi kya karna hai, exam toh xyz months baad hain na
I’m like: broooo noo, that’s not how it works 😂 padhte rehna padega

Also when they see you studying daily they assume ki you’ve mastered the syllabus. Reality is, 50 days before the exam, we’re like: dafuq did I do this entire time 😂
