CSE 2021: Plan / Strategy / Daily Routine

Hello 2021 aspirants. I thought it would be nice if we can share what we are doing and intend to do with one another here.

This could be a thread for discussing everything prep for 2021.

No one method fits all but to see the plans and progress made by fellow aspirants might help with the finer details of preparation and also keep one on track.

Good morning guys targets for 27.11.21 are:

finish up PSIR 1B

finish up whatever was left from yesterday.

Simple targets hopefully the journey to accomplishing them is also simple. It’s a white bread kinda day… simple, not fancy, gets the job done.

@leftfaithinmyself I have almost decided to go for rbi considering status in society, benefits and salary, brandname, chances of further employment and posting in better areas.
Just want a 2nd opinion

Indian defence account service v/s rbi grade b manager?

I have been alloted both.

Which should I choose?

I would have made a decision based on my personal inclination.

Where would I want to see myself 10 years down the line?

To me, everything comes secondary--reputation in society, brand name, etc..

If you are not satisfied at the end of the tunnel, then what's the point.

I can not stand a banking job to be honest. So I would have never gone for RBI, despite its brand name and all..

Plus indian defence and account officers are not posted in "difficult" Areas..

There is a YouTube channel Gaurav Kaushal, he is in the IDAS, maybe u can watch it and get some more perspective on it.

P. S: This is just my personal opinion.. Please feel free to ignore this random stranger on the internet

@SunnyParashar rbi is better than Idas, facilities in rbi are top notch in addition to perks, plus its not a typical ‘banking ‘ job as sbi or other banks, crossing over to pvt sector would be possible too. Transfers are infrequent , if u are once in a metro then u are almost sure to be there for a decade. Life would be stable, but yes there would be no badge of having cleared upsc, but that hardly matters after a while. (My father retired from nabard and I knew a few of his friends who were in rbi)
IDAS, I know a couple of people who joined the service, I can’t say if they were unsatisfied because they never said so, but looking at the areas of their posting I felt it’s not an easy job.

so purely based on perks, facilities , location and family comfort , definitely RBI 👍🏼

Hi, anyone giving AWFG regularly?

What about Omicron and chances of mains getting postponed?

Has mains examination ever been postponed in past?

Is it possible to do so, because exam calendar is already very distorted with little room left?

Is it just me or polity sectional in mgp was fking tough?

There were many questions with just 3 points of  answers asked in 3 pages. :(

@nerdslayer whyyy? Just sit back and prepare for mains. Imo, shouldn't even be bothering about postponement.
There's not even an official case of new variant yet in India and postpone krane chale.

I feel many questions in the other tests are also in the same way, less content to write but in 15 marks.

If you don't mind can you share what's your average score in Essay and GS tests.

This is my first mains and I'd like to know what the average scoring is like with other aspirants

It looks soo far fetched to get into the list, given the never ending remaining portions for revisions.

Complete absence of sincere efforts from my side. Looking at my current level of preparation and the amount of work I'm putting it (won't even call it hard work), I won't even select myself for the post in the first place...

Complete lack of concentration today.. Which is the story of every day.... Totally useless..sitting for some amount of hours

hey, to take some load off your shoulders you can tell yourself that the hard work put now will not go to complete waste and will help you in future attempts. Even if you fail to complete the syllabus believe me you would have achieved more by the end of january than what you would have achieved if you had not qualified for mains. The past 1 month has been the most productive i have felt in last few years. Neither the extra push that mains give, nor the efficiency of mains appearing candidate can be matched by those not appearing for it . Mains is you on steroids!!
Unsolicited advice incomingnot for you but for myself :P- dont pay much attention to model answers and scores awarded by test series wala. Their solutions will mess up your brain and kill your original thought, just skim through the solutions for quick extra points, but dont sit down to understand their structure and logic. First write the answers by yourself even if it feels you dont have the content and later read the solutions not viceversa. You can keep the solutions open in front of you while writing to glance quickly when you get stuck tho :P. Make it fun , dont tense yourself. Tension lene se marks toh bdega nhi BP high ho jayega bass , to fayda kya. This is not to say that you gotta feel good all the time , there will be shitty hours everyday but you just laugh it off like a character from fyodor dostoevsky novel hysterically laughing his ass off at his predicament

Wasn’t able to complete my targets yesterday. Had guests over which I knew about but completely forgot to factor in for the day.
