CSE 2021: Plan / Strategy / Daily Routine

Hello 2021 aspirants. I thought it would be nice if we can share what we are doing and intend to do with one another here.

This could be a thread for discussing everything prep for 2021.

No one method fits all but to see the plans and progress made by fellow aspirants might help with the finer details of preparation and also keep one on track.

Went back to library finally and was alone till afternoon then finally two comrades joined me in the battlefield

All the way day was very productive finished off most of the targets set for day ( because finally I was back in my Kurukshetra and -जो लड़ सका है वो ही तो महान है)

Learning of day -

Managed to complete the targets. Cheated a little by doing 6 shorter booklets instead of the ones I had originally intended to do. Didn't manage to not watch anything. Treat myself day has accordingly been pushed to Friday.

Plan for 12/06:

1. Incidentals

2. 7 VAM booklets

3. Resume ankifying prelims stuff (day 1/30)

Organisation:

Start by 10 am. Chaotic Homo's 4 quarters thing sounds great. Giving that a shot for a week.

Day 2 of trying to not watch anything.

Not a good day for target completion. Caught up with some friends then got too distracted with placement FOMO. Managed to complete 1 and 3. Only two super short booklets. Too tired to do more now. Will start afresh tomorrow. Didn't manage to cut out Netflix distractions.

Plan for 13/06:

1. Incidentals

2. Ankifying Day 2/30

3. 7 booklets

Sticking with the quarters method. Works better than what I was doing. START BY 10! Locking my phone away tomorrow.

Gave physics test today, that compensated for the rest. Couldn't do much since evening due to guests for dinner.

Will finish one probable topic before sleeping

12.6.21 (I have started to view the “cool date” days with suspicion)

start world history (do jai at mandir, because it was a task and a half to complete post)

Psir- persist with organisations

IE editorial backlog

daily C/A

AWP for PSIR

writing with my right hand- 1 page (I’ve been trying to do this for a few days now for the lols, but I thought will add it here as well, so that it becomes a habit to practice daily)

Cool dates really aren’t the best. Managed to complete most of my targets within the first half itself. But then the PSIR truck hit me head on. What shouldn’t have taken more than 3 hours stretched to a whopping 6 hours with all my procrastination and distractedness. Didn’t even do a satisfactory job with it in the end. It was just one of those half-hearted, “need to tick it off my check” list style jobs. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Edit: in other news, my right hand handwriting is improving. I’m one step closer to being a cool person

Everyone is at home today, so there goes my sustained attention. Will try my best to complete targets anyhow.

  1. PSIR: State in Comparative Perspective + PYQ (2 hours)
  2. Post Independence History (2-3 hours)
  3. AWP + Newspaper (2 hours)
  4. April CA (2/2)

All targets were met, but did not write answers.

Optional topic of the day was such ki zyada kuch tha ni padhne ko, that saved a lot of time. :P

Started and finished post independence history. What will I actually retain remains a mystery.

Finished Mare of Easttown. It was a 5/5 for me. The complex characters, intertwined lives and emotional depth was amazing.

I have this feeling ki my wisdom teeth is starting to act up again, in which case, god please have mercy. 😭

How do you do post-independence?

Politics in India Since Independence NCERT only. Anything beyond that feels unnecessary, to me.

The consistency of you guys on this thread inspires many lurkers like me. Afterall it takes courage to introspect the day and find areas of improvement. Keep it up guys. I firmly believe in->1.01 to the power of 365~38!That's the power of improving (howsoever small) everyday consistently. All the best to everyone!

I mentally block off time because I usually skim through my resources a day prior just to check if there’s a lot to read and my relative comfort with a topic. Then I time myself forcing myself to stick to the time limit/ being aware of overruns. I also keep things that mostly have massive overruns for the second half so that I don’t waste my entire day.

Daily C/A

its a relatively light day since I’m hoping to catch a livestream of a BTS concert, let’s hope the internet gods are kind to me. If not, I’ll find something else to do. Maybe revise C/A

Same, spectrum also has some chapters which are considerably decent to pick and choose from.
