CSE 2022: Plan/ Strategy/ Daily Routine

This is an everything thread for all stuff 2022. You can post your daily goals, end-of-the-day updates, weekly targets or any weird thing you use to measure your progress. You can put into words & post the soul-sucking sadness that is threatening to devour you & your productivity. You can write what made your day & let others experience the happiness too, at least vicariously. This is a thread to pick each other up. This is a thread to keep each other accountable. This is a no-judgement zone.

--------

“This is one more piece of advice I have for you: don't get impatient. Even if things are so tangled up you can't do anything, don't get desperate or blow a fuse and start yanking on one particular thread before it's ready to come undone. You have to realize it's going to be a long process and that you'll work on things slowly, one at a time.”

@sstaarr Wow that is a wonderful score in GS-1, especially considering the type of paper it was.

Don't worry too much about CSAT till the official result comes in. Private ones tend to have a lot of mistakes. Also, just wondering - how did you find the comprehension passages this time around? Maths was tougher this time I know.

I have attempted maths and reasoning jyda this time. I found passages easier than 2021 because in 2021 I knew I was struggling with them. Having difficulty in comprehending them. This time this was not the case. I just hope Passages save me. Although I do think the option framing was on a little tougher side and for sure not so easy.

RCs were easy

Even the options were directly given in the passages.

5. Even the Bar Council Q is problematic: My view is both statements must be wrong as in the 2nd statement it says Bar Councils(not council/Bar Council of India) ->But we hear very often about multiple other councils(Eg: Bar Council of Delhi /Bihar/etc) ->So, how can bloody all of them have the power to regulate/lay down the rules for legal education and recognition ->What about uniformity & parallels that teachers across institutes were drawing with AICTE/other national councils.

One thing is for sure, Mast khela hobega answer key main.

Getting 82 as per Forum's answer key. This goes up to 90 in the other keys but I'll stick to Forum for now.

But I have serious reservations against several Qs and would like the faculty to take a relook not that it helps but it may calm down many nerves in the student & coaching fraternity:

1. In the NFTs Q: I think all 3 will be correct ->Because NFTs regularly/very commonly function like membership cards or tickets, are used to provide access to events or give special discounts ->these are all commercial transactions. They're settling for NFTs instead of fiat ->And ofc they've been traded or exchanged at equivalency.

2. In the Somnath Temple Q: Even though I had no clue about the 3rd statement but I was able to deduce that since Radhakrishnan was a huge leader, he would have been there in the inauguration ceremony at least ->And guess what ->It turns out he was actually present. And he also became the president! ->Ideally 3 should also be correct xD & we know how UPSC works ->Broadest possible scenario.

3. In the Mongol invasion Question: I feel statement I must be incorrect but again faculty has already taken note of that.

4. Even the clouds Q ->How can we be so damn sure about this phenomenon working in the same manner everywhere ->Ofc it won't - Clouds would behave differently under different conditions(Take for eg in cold climates ->They'd definitely have higher albedo) ->SO I guess UPSC may take a broader view and accept both statements to be true but if it goes with conventional book wisdom we might settle for None of the two are correct.

Yes even in general category there is a chance. Prepare for mains. I wasted a lot of time in speculation last year, reflected in my marks.

@Pam123 seats pichle baar se to Zyada hain toh cut off toh niche Jani chiye, considering q paper was definitely similar to last year if not more difficult also that upsc innovation to curb elimination might reflect in score kyunki aise to 5-6 q hain

Am i the only one thinking that UPSC 2022 was much tougher than 2021? Getting a total of 94 in the best case scenario. 105 in 2021.

Civils Mains:2017,2018,2020,2021,Forest Mains:2021.

It definitely was. Elimination techniques were useless in lots of questions. Factual IR questions would have troubled even experienced aspirants. Besides, polity and economy questions while still being conceptual were not as easy as last year.

Given that, around 4k more people will be qualifying compared to last year, cut off might go below 85 as well.

NFTs are being used as a barter system bhai. For eg, maan lo tumhare paas kisi expensive designer T-shirt ka NFT hai and mere paas kisi rare and expensive sneaker ka nft hai and agar humare beech double-coincidence of wants hai (matlab I’m interested in buying tshirt and selling my sneaker and vice versa in your case) toh hum dono mutually apne NFTs ki value decide kar ke uss ko trade kar sakte hai virtually.

Examiner ne specifically mention kar rakha hai word “equivalence” so most probably 3rd statement sahi hai.

@TheNotorious meko lagta hai upsc general view uthayegi  aur 1and 2 hi degi kyunki non fungibility hi toh main diffrence hain between crypto and nft baaki let the ultimate arbitrator decide

NextIAS video solutions on YouTube. Seems accurate. Few errors in RC can't be ruled out through.
