This is an everything thread for all stuff 2022. You can post your daily goals, end-of-the-day updates, weekly targets or any weird thing you use to measure your progress. You can put into words & post the soul-sucking sadness that is threatening to devour you & your productivity. You can write what made your day & let others experience the happiness too, at least vicariously. This is a thread to pick each other up. This is a thread to keep each other accountable. This is a no-judgement zone.

“This is one more piece of advice I have for you: don't get impatient. Even if things are so tangled up you can't do anything, don't get desperate or blow a fuse and start yanking on one particular thread before it's ready to come undone. You have to realize it's going to be a long process and that you'll work on things slowly, one at a time.”

Yesterday was a good day.
Tuesdays: Self-regulation day: reviewing all the work done over the past week, consolidating and revising and active recall of the same. Linking all the aggregated information.
Day#11 09/11/21: a) The Hindu(done) b) review the past week's work c) write as much possible d) revise and active recall e) link everything f) organise notes and make flashcards where need arises
"Victory is reserved for those who are willing to pay the price."
@Muffin he had mentioned taking leave on the account of newspapers not publishing diwali issues and earlier he mentioned not posting everyday and only doing so when "enough maal ikattha ho jayega tab" :)
Yesterday: Tuesdays idea works. Good day.
10/11/21 Day#12~targets: (a) The Hindu(done) (b) GS-4(attitude) notes (c) socio (maximum damage) (d) bonus quest: issues brainstorming or writing
Took3 hoursto write the definition of attitude. Why? I had more than 10 sources for ethics open before me.It was paralysing :/ Perfect is the enemy of good. Last time I did the same mistake about 6 months ago when I took a whole day to write the definition of 'value'. This is the surest way of ensuring failure. At the root is fear, the fear of making substandard notes or writing substandard answers. But I have to accept that my first answers won't be perfect, my first draft of notes won't be perfect. And they might never be. Asa I accept this the better. It's almost foolish to do this, to put oneself at a disadvantage. Self-sabotage.😤
Targets for tomorrow after chhath puja ends in the morning and I feast on the thekuas to be probably followed by a big fat nap. Will tap into beast mode after that. 🦉
Alrighty.
Time to get back and begin the quest.
Targets: 11/11/21~Day#13: (a)The Hindu (b)Delete extraneous resources. (c)Finish Ethics(Attitude🕶) (d)Socio-consolidate upto lec-3. Not sleeping before finishing. As simple as that 🦅
Hi All,
Hoping to start again with studies admist all the chaos in life.
This time i have decided to put in less but consistent hours.
All the studying for 8-10 hours a day is clearly not working for me.
Today -
1. Newspaper - 1 hr
2. Ethics leftover reading - 3 hrs
3. Some AWP
4. Work
5. Extra reading + self care
Which one should be prepared first, GS4 or GS1? What do you guys suggest?
In my opinion , GS4 ( short syllabus , less linkage to other papers, more scoring scope) as compared to GS1 (largest syllabus among all GS papers with less scoring scope) . But it also depends on your level of preparation of both papers.

Yes that is what I was also thinking. Also it’s probably better to do gs1 nearer to prelims as it will help in that too. Thanks.
Could not study for the last several days. Shifted from Delhi to my hometown and the house is getting renovated. Will try to accomplish something today.
Targets:
1. Glance over CA of last 10 days.
2. Review of last IR Test.
3. Start something for the next philosophy test.
1. Done
2. Not done
3. Not done
Too many people at home and too many things happening. Still I need to take out time wherever possible and do as much as possible.
Today's targets:
1. Review IR test.
2. Prepare for ethics test.
3. Prepare Moore and Russell.
1. Done
2. Not done
3. Partially done
I should make my targets more specific and more realistic. Today’s target:
1. Current affairs
2. CA class 6th november
3. Review ethics topper copies
4. Philosophy test question no. 1 (at least partially)
Not much done. Fell sick. With the house getting renovated, and my sisters marriage on 21st, there is little scope for studying. Better to have small and achievable targets than something too ambitious. Today's targets:
1. Current affairs of last few days that I missed.
2. Finish 6th november class.
Done. Today's target:
1. Today's CA + Editorial
2. 8th Nov CA Class (1/2)
Can anyone please recommend who will be better for CA classes between Santosh sir and Dipin sir?
I think you should go for Dipin sir, I have taken classes of both and I found Dipin sir better. Santosh sir gives too many handouts, you will feel that you have studied a lot but it's really hard to revise.
Dipin Sir - pros - crisp handouts of 1-2 pages, value added material, easy to revise, his notes are really useful for mains (mainly GS2-GS3), for prelims his notes are okayish, but again they are short and easy to revise. (but reading too much CA for prelims is futile these days, but no one knows when can UPSC start asking CA, so at least do CA from one source.)
cons - cancel classes often, costly as compared to Santosh sir
Santosh sir - pros - teaches way too much (this is con as well), friendly, his CA notes for SnT and environment are top notch, less costly (he even allow 2 login per course, so you can also buy his course along with someone else)
cons - mainly prelims oriented classes (he teaches approx 5 months only for prelims), at the end of his classes you will have approx 2k pages of current affairs + some static topic as well
My opinion - go for Dipin Sir and refer Santosh sir notes selectively at time of prelims (easily available in market as well as on his telegram channel)

Finished the maths portion but slacked off a little in Society. Will need a little time to get back to mains GS it seems. Will be analysing the PYQs to set the tone for Society before I go to sleep.
Targets:
- Maths Optional Test
- Maths Test Analysis
- If time permits, finish off today's leftover GS1 portion (1/4)
Finished the first two targets, not enough time to do Society. That'll continue tomorrow. Will revise LPP theory before I go to sleep.
Oh and also, as if prelims 2021 wasn't enough already, my silly mistakes have come back to haunt me. Maths this time!
Targets:
- Finish LPP
- Society (2/4)
Very unproductive day today. Did sit for a certain amount of hours but couldn't finish either of the two targets. Timelines are rigid, need to buckle up. First bad day after the prelims setback.
Same targets repeat.
Good day. The real challenge is to sustain this, fingers crossed! Both targets accomplished.
Targets:
- Society (3/4)
- Real Analysis Theory
- Brush up maps, definitions for upcoming GS test
I might ditch maths tomorrow and finish Society once and for all. Let's see what mood the morning brings. Have a good day, people!
Decent day. Chose to not do maths today, almost managed to finish all of society (90%). Will keep tomorrow lighter than usual.
Targets:
- GS Mains Mock Test
- Finish Society (4/4) - Phew!
- If energy left, revise Real Analysis
