Worst ever defeat for Conor I feel. Got absolutely battered and then broke his leg too. Very tough to watch man!
Very unhappy ending for the guy..
Good thoughts for Poirier
Regarding the leg fracture... sure looked bad
But still very much better than Weidman, that was even difficult to watch
Conor was cheering while being taken, so hopefully its not that bad.
Stupid question, but does anyone else have a problem wrapping their head around the fact that the past tense of ‘beat’ is also ‘beat’ and is pronounced in the same manner?I think I used its past tense while speaking for the first time ever a couple of days back (‘England beat Denmark’; BEET or BET, I kept wondering) and since then I’m very annoyed. In hindsight I should have used ‘defeated’ but I can’t understand why this is making me so uncomfortable.
Is your pfp a white blank space?
@necromancertry wracking your brains more or (is it racking your Brains ) and you will struggle to form even basic sentences. I had developed such a dread of this thing I had to stay vigilant all the time to stop my brain from going down this loop of nouns, verbs,.etc... It's like you are trying to solve differential equations and you wonder why 2+2 = 4 or why One is called one....not good at analogies , hope you get the point. Also English must be the worst language, there are so many exceptions and rules , so many borrowed words that there's no logic to it Plus it's not phonetic so cycle, psyche, side all are pronounced same way.Plus now I have developed this tendency of wanting to be as precise orally as I am in written communication, as a result I am framing and reframing sentences in my head with the result that I can't communicate at all... Not to mention how enervating it is
Hahaha I tried listening to a voice note I sent my friend, and cringed so hard at my syntax. Same issues about wanting to be more precise while speaking. I tried dividing my speech pattern into two: one pattern which consisted of my normal speed, reserved for conversing with friends or inane stuff; the other, aslowerand more thought out form reserved for talking about serious stuff. I think it works because my parents have been less impatient with me while debating things. 🤷🏻♀️
@peterparker Nole will complete golden slam after Tokyo and calendar slam after USO. Can accept as a GOAT now 😕🥺
will all due credit to Novak and his impeccable style of playing, I think there are more aspects to the GOAT debate than just Grand Slam titles :)
@LetsGetThisBread yes, blends in nicely with the background :P
See the background… feel the background... be the background

Novak had 1 Grand Slam title in 2010 while Federer and Nadal had 16 and 9 respectively. The turnaround of events has been impeccable in the case of Novak!
Still not a GOAT though! Same reason why Ronaldo is not a GOAT in football irrespective of his more goals.

Only one of the 3 to win all the grand slams twice. Unreal mental strength. Will most probably win the Olympics and US Open too(unless he hits another linesmen :p). The only thing Federer has over him is that he is more easy on the eye.
@balwintejas Tennis is an individual sport unlike football so that comparison isn't valid imo

True! I was just saying that winning a trophy won't dictate the whole story. Things could have been different when Novak would have to face Nadal or Federer in the finals or knockout round!
Still, he is a great, great player of tennis without a doubt.
