Have you been able to get some insights in what is working and what is not working for History optional people ?

From history optional people ?

What can be written under khalsa Evolution?

@Freakhoto I believe IGNOU are important for every optional. Most of the coaching notes and mains test series are verbatim from IGNOU. Coachings are literally doing copy paste and taking 50k! :P

@Freakhoto We can start from the transformation of the nature of gurudom. Then link it with ongoing hostility of Mughals to Sikhs and then trace to as regionalism in its infancy maybe?

@SergioRamos I was thinking of like this
Can we divide the khalsa panth evolution into three part?
1. As a group to fight against the soxio religious group
2. As a Confederacy
3. As a sikh Monarch

@Freakhoto What all points you have for monarch?

@SergioRamos rise of ranjit singh!!

@Freakhoto Yes! That is correct!

Khalsa->Misls->Ranjit Singh.
So we may start the answer with changing nature of gurudom, ie from hereditary to Gurdom perpetually vested in the book. Then bring the socio-political angle of Mughals and then lead to misls and regionalism.
Do you know any socio-economic angle to the evolution? Can it be said to be an assertion of the castes hitherto devoid of any political power as Sikhism attracted "lower castes"?

@SergioRamos Obviously See Punjab as a region was always agriculturally rich with a lot of traders residing there.. Infact their breakup from Mughal empire was a due to their economic superiority. But due to the Overtone of linking and rise of Punjab as an independent state that angle is never explored... And we don't find if ever lower caste asserted their power!

Another reason is that sikhism the ethos of equality were dominant .So there is no mention of class. so if they did also it doesn't find mention in literature!

P. s Personal opinion ->IgNou me toh Sikhism ache se nahi diya!

@Neyawn - Given my marks (120+165) + talks with a few others (with good marks), I was able to make some deductions but not sure if they are completely correct.

Paper 1 - Sources are of paramount importance. (Since no conclusive evidence available for any inference).

Paper 2 - Analysis >>Facts.

Not a history optional guy but just stumbled upon this thread. Since you guys are discussing maps, I had this Chitra Mishra's map strategy pdf in my evernote as it seemed nice in terms of mapping historical locations for prelims. See if it helps, else ignore. Best wishes. MAP-SECTION-HISTORY-PAPER-1.pdf
