Mains 2019 Preparation and Discussion Thread
Now that 1 week is over, it is time to shift focus to Mains. With barely 103 days left there is no time to waste.
Damn, I already feel aimless in life. #rant
On a different note, people who are jobless and already gave 2-3 attempts - what are your plans now? I truly feel like I'm in a chakravyuh.
Based on my papers, I doubt if I'll get a rank this year even if i make it to interview. Want to give another attempt, but don't want to stay idle till march.

I feel to worried. What are your thoughts about being unemployed and its effects on interview performance ?
Sup with geography ? Paper 1 no theories at all... really screwed with all those who spent their time on perspectives. UPSC really does follow market trends because for few years now toppers have been promoting perspectives for good marks. Also almost 4 10 markers are gone either because of lack of content or because we didn't know the term itself.
Paper 2 was vague really... pretty difficult to write precise answers with data. Even more difficult to link theories as the usual limits to growth and Malthus etc were not easy to incorporate.
@Phagocytewill give the upcoming Rbi grade B exam.

@Rand_Al_ThorPaper 1 really bad. Paper 2 I found mapa difficult. Rest was general.

@RaillifeNo, I don't think it is that much mugging. For socio anthropology, you will become familiar with anthropologists' name, their work after repeated reading. For physical, one needs to put in slightly extra effort if one is not from medical/biology background. After a point, it becomes easy. You have full year's time. Don't mug up facts. Keep on reading repeatedly same stuff. You will be able to retain it.

The essence of a geography student might not be visible to the examiner. What effect might it have on my score?
@OmenEven I am unemployed for 2.5 years would be 3 years at the time of interview. What's the way out job or post graduation or 1 more full time attempt?

@missionmangalHmm.. the usual way to make it geography is by taking the answers region wise. Like for Himalayas...take west middle and east separately and analyse. I dont know how you wrote and I'm no expert. It will have an impact if you wrote all answers like GS. Some answers like trade pattern might be completely like GS that's not an issue. The game is to make all others somehow geographical by maps and theories of paper 1
