GS1- 100 plus
GS2- 95 to 100

Bhai, mere marks to inke aas pass bhi nai hai, phir bhi hopeful hu

@MahaRana
i used to write Essay- weekly challenge in Insights IAS
my 2019 mains topics were
- Individual good not always good for the society- in this essay there are two parts -lets first talk about second part which is skipped by many aspirants.
second part is that good for individual is good for society like empowerment of women can empower family society as a whole e.g. Mother Teresa , Mukesh Ambani ...if he become more richer...more expansion of business thus more GDP growth and more employment to poor thus poverty reduction
now lets move to first part ( what i wrote.....i used different dimensions-
- Evolution- Human exploited the nature from the beginning for example when sapiens reached in australia all large animals were easily killed.....
2.Administrative-mega corruption in India by Kalmadi in Commonwealth.
3.Political- Eemergency in india.
4. international relation- America's aim to destroy the iraq, Baghdadi, Binladen-world trade centre.
5. Economic- Vijay Malya, Neerav
6. Historical- Aurangzeb, General Dyre
7. Agriculture- punjab haryana- greedy farmers-soilpollution-Cnacer Express
8. Environment- Greed vs need, we use straw, plastic bottel- ocean pollution etc.
9. Mahabharata- Duryodhan, Dhritrashtra
10. Women-
aur bhi kuchh likha ab jyada yad nahi
in Way forward- wrote about middle path- Buddha's sying, Gandhi's point, golden mean etc. and finally concluded
in each para of essay i put 2-3 examples to make it interesting and in the beginning of para i used to write like- 'moving forward', 'lets talk about' after discussing political dimension lets move to economic dimension etc. to maintain flow
my second topic was - South Asian societies ( i will explain later )
thx
@Behemoth
had strong feeling after gs1 and optional second paper that i have done well
and felt numb after gs 4 lets see kitna atahai
last attempt me optional deke thoda satisfy to hua tha and had got 297 but significant differences hosktehai marking pattern ke wjah se
this subjectivity makes this exam horrifying
@Behemothyeah I am also confused about it. Some people on forum did wrote that, inner feellings just after giving the exam are the most genuine evaluation of ones performance. My inner feelings were in that way very positive as I prepared every part of the syllabus through various question(tlp, secure, vision) so I wrote answers based on set framework and felt satisfied. The moment I came across some asnwer keys and answers by some aspirants on forum and heights of confidence of others...mujhe laga me to gobar kar ke aya hu papers me...aisa contradiction ho gaya hai ab!!
@abhishek_pBro , dont let others confidence disparage you. So far the answer keys/format of various coaching had the luxury of time and space.
@TETRACYCLINEAgree.
@dancingminionordered the book y'day. Thanks for suggestion.
@BulbulSenThis is the end
Beautiful friend
This is the end
My only friend
The end
Of our elaborate plans
The end
Of everything that stands
The end
No safety or surprise
The end
I'll never look into your eyes
Again. (The Door).

bhai ye humbleness nahi hai. Sach hain
@visionmanYou can absolutely mention that in your DAF. No problem at all. Just prepare a few questions like what injuries are common, famous marathons in Inida, famous atheletes, how you will manage it after selection, health benefits.
@DKT
Kisi ne notice kiya UPSC website me pics move karti rehti hai.....same pics are moving since last 5-6 years.....
@BulbulSen
Tl;Dr: We are all working for our own sense of happiness. You may call it satisfaction/goals/pleasure/desire/whatever else.
The very fact that we have a physical form means that there must be a reasonable nexus of materialistic goals and ideational goals for us to live happily till the time we don this physical form.
Life is all about this reasonable nexus which is essentially a weighing scale. Most of us are trying to balance this scale in our own ways to remain happy. We find our balance in pursuing this goal. Some others in some other way.
Everybody is working around this weighing scale. Most try to balance it. A good mix-up of both side. Some try to go either side of it, wholly.(A tiktok lover with no intellectual goals vs a hermit with high sense of intellect)
The point being if you stop the act of working around this scale, you'd lose the sense of living. Nothing will interest you anymore and nothing will attract your ire. Those who lose sight of the weighing scale fail to see any reason to do anything. But, how will they obtain happiness? Happiness needs a via media.
The person eventually loses the sense of happiness. The next thing you do is question the sense of living. This is the tipping point. You know what happens next.
