How was the paper guys ?
Jahan Cutoff ka Cut lagate honge, wahan sabse jyada density hoti hogi. Phele aisa nahi hota tha...
The Fact is that The coaching institutes of UPSC are modelled on the lines of Fiitjee and VMC. But there is a difference. You learn maths, you can improvise. The more hardwork you do, the more you score in JEE in successive years. I have never ever seen anyperson scoring less rank than the previous year.
You learn about parabola, they may ask a tough question on it, but since it is maths, you can improvise. But Here in UPSC, there is no syllabus. It may happen that they start asking q from Bollywood

found a nice vid!
There was a boom in 2015-16, Vision boomed along with others. There was a common line in ORN "bro job ke saath kuch nahi hoga, IAS ban ja par phele job choddh dey". That Gyaan was so toxic that people used to leave 40 Lac packages (back in 2016). Topper talks like "NCERTs sey padhlo, Lbsnaa mei direct entry mil jayegi, avg GS mains likho, ho jayega" doesn't work now.
When toppers proclaim "sports ka page mat padh", UPSC also listened to them (they too have internet mann) and framed questions like that.
This is the forumias explanation for the magnetite question. Whoever wrote this is an absolute genius
After reading stories of people here, I too want to share mine.
It is my third attempt. I have cleared prelims once in 2020 with a good 14 marks margin. Though I could not clear mains, the prelims performance helped me to boost my confidence. I worked hard on my mains preparation during the extended period we got due to second wave. I so much wanted to write mains 2021. I wanted to see the results of my efforts. But, my performance in prelims 2021 shattered my hopes to a great extent. I am getting around 87-93 marks (UR). My mind and luck both were not on my side in that exam hall.
Though I am trying to study for mains, the regret of past and anxiety of future are pulling me back.
May God give us strength to get through this phase !
The only advice I can give to people who are here is that to get a job after 2-3 failed attempts. You may discover new and beautiful areas of life, and then come back (or dont if you like there only). Your trauma will lessen.
If someone has prepared for years and attempted even 3-4 times, then he/ she will not get satisfaction anywhere and in any job. This exam has a very bad effect ( especially mental health effect) on any other future job options whether in private, psu or even state pcs jobs. It completely destroy the joy inside you in case of failure with attempt/ age exhausted.
Only final success with a rank gets you a peace.

@saurabher43267 I had similar thinking till last year. But a lot has changed since last year, now i have come to terms with the fact that something's needs unexplained and unexpected fortune too, its a very important part of process, and unfortunately it's not in your hands. So its better not to take it very seriously, rather there's a need to focus on other social things
We are exactly on same thoughts. After last year mains failure now I feel that some natural forces should favour you. Gave all my energy and was confident of getting good scores which was not. Now exploring other options
