@NeganUPSC framed the 2 very close options in the Qs to prompt the candidates to attempt... which led to more wrong... and last  2-3 years tricks/elimination strategy (like all, only, not, S&T all etc) -- led to more wrong... thatswhy ppl roaming around 85+ (rarely i have seen above 100) -- while in 2020... many were there >100 (me too)

I still cant get over that idiotic qstn, where francis xavier died.lol, it turned out he died in china but was buried in goa.

What is the Consensus about who is the heaviest Data sufficiency question in Csat?? Are both statements required?

cut off 86-88
because last year cut off 92.51
assuming 2 ques. got deleted (+4 marks)
but the score must have been scaled to 200
so on avg. everyone will get 1.9 marks
so net deduction of 2.1 marks
 so actual cut off could have been = 92.51 + 2.1 = 94.61
Now a poll on telegram showed decrease in   number of marks of students compared to  last  year coaching keys-
the average mean marks reduced is 9 marks
 so = 94.61 - 9 = 85.61
now taking into consideration reduction in  vacancy add 2
 85.61 + 2 = 87.61
also many people have doubts regarding csat  so reduce 1 mark
 87.61 - 1 = 86.61
so cut off will be 86-88

ps- did this calculation few days back, thought of sharing here😅

Accurate one👍

I guess A hi hoga even though I marked C.. Most of the keys giving A..

Hona to C chahy as C can be equal to A and D as no relation is given in statement 1

But upsv me jiada thinking ni Krni hoti and by keeping it simple I guess A hi hoga..

Similarly on the question of difference of digits 54,many keys are denying first statement due to only word but on the same logic upsc itna aptitude me only par ni jata hoga and keeping it simple I guess usme C hoga

@Stay_happy bhai it is written that A and D are not the heaviest. Given other conditions C is the heaviest.

I find a broad consensus in the answers of all major coaching for much controversial questions "made up on forum". Like right to city, EPFO casual labour, state defination, Chenab, Synthetic media, Mitrocondrial disease, fedreralism features, British Parliament comparision and even Magnetite particles.

Dispute lies for copper, pressure cooker which are open to interpretation.

Looks like somewhere most of us are dragged in a cycle of wishful thinking, over thinking and insecuri

Many saw 15 marks reduction in upsc key last year.same in 2019 too.its not delusion without basis

@prachimalik1121311   I too marked D in virus question but I have 2 things to say here.
The research article which you have cited is Not having a full-text document. Also the heading in itself is not sufficient coz in research papers, the author at last mentions whether it is possible or not possible. No such possibility is found prima facie. I tried my best to retrieve the article but to no help. Maybe the paper was retracted.

~ I have read several research papers and hence inwas sharing
Kaash virus sahi ho kyunki mera bhi D tha, par hoga nahi ab.😀

Not to start a debate but viral cultures are a real thing. This will be correct.Viral "cultures" are done using cell lines (read cell cultures) where cells are given host-like conditions so that viruses can be tested for any research question (to get a picture.. think about cells growing in a small pipe-like structure with all necessary nutrients). I was a biology researcher that's why saying this (but my designation doesn't help when UPSC has failed some historians, Bureaucrats XD). So, keep marking it as negative for calculating a minimum score, so that you get less of a shock, i have marked it as negative too.

Also, a learning for people not from STEM to know why this question in the exam (or how to find a pattern from newspaper)... it can be thought that this question came based on India's recent R&D efforts in virus structure isolation, identification and vaccine development (India was one of the initial countries to isolate coronavirus structure).
