@Aurang_mirasudar 2014 i guess, ditto repeat, virus is not in official answer key
It's 2013. There the option was "Viruses can be cultured in any synthetic medium"
Here, it just asks if it can be cultured, which it can be. Viral cultures are available
Same statements are there in both papers. Upsc official keys in 2013 says virus can not be cultured in Synthetic medium. I too got this wrong. I marked All but it is wrong.
IAS Next -92
Ias baba -92
shankar ias -89.33
subra Ranjan madam - 89.33
Excluding Moss& lichen ; Pressure Cooker ; and one more question.
category - ST
Any chance for prelims?
on InsightonIas people are scoring 100+
You yourself know the answer. The cutoffs of ST category will not cross even 75 this year. All the best for mains. You are already in.
Leaving the technical definitions aside, the framing of options also gives an insight into the possible right ans.
Stmt 3 is present individually and with two other stmts, which indicates that stmt 3 might be one of the correct statements.
So in this debate,1,2,3 seems to be more suitable ans.
Although I marked 2 and 4
At that point of time in exam hall, " ki ye question ke options hi wrong hain". Although i marked 2 and 4 and it is wrong.
@singlanitesh23707 check google map also.. Chenab meets indus directly. Even question was saying meeting of 3 other rivers. So in that case, ravi Sutlej and jhelum meets chenab only which meets indus directly
In Khullar , which is supposed to be standard text book for Geography optional, it is clearly mentioned that Sutlej meets Indus after receiving combined water of three other rivers.
I think people do prepare these stuffs from standard textbooks and not from websites, youtube videos etc.
But if UPSC do gives Chenab as answer then only God can save future aspirants reading standard textbooks for this exam.
Post 2021 prelims different scenario from past years:
1. Aspirants not interested to disclose their marks.
2. Not interested to join any test series until results are declared.
3. Not interested to check different keys.
4. Not interested to discuss what is right or wrong.
5. Inflating marks by considering at least 60-70% disputed questions as right.
6. Institutes not interested to launch any test series until results.
7. Not enthusiastic to write answers until we clear prelims.
A different scenario and environment this year 😐
But vajiram has already announced their mains test series, crash course, essay programs. And they do not refund the money in case aspirants want.I guess not many join their programs!
As regarding the question about " State", i still have doubt whether all states need to be Sovereign? As there are some Non sovereign states also if we search.you r spot on,I strongly believe its b but none would accept it as coaching keys claim its a..Just wait for the result.it does not matter after that.
I too marked B option. This year's paper is very very tough.
@mounikamouni24_h944 it will be chenab.Question basically has two parts.3 other rivers meeting in main river and which joins the indus directly. So sutlej can be negated from this as ravi and jhelum meet chenab, not sutlej. And in chenab all other three rivers meet.Don't just look at one part of question I.e. which meets indus directly.
For this question, only thing can be said that it is very poorly worded and now it is upto UPSC , whether Chenab or Sutlej. And this one question may shatter the dreams of many as 2.66 marks are very important in this absurdly set paper checking random facts.
aisa lagta hai ki sirf ek hi question me dispute hai aur wo hai Cooker wala. Baaki lagbhag vision ka sahi hai keys with explanation( Indus hata ke)
Indus wale ka source Khullar me confirm Sutlej hai jo Shabbir sir ne bhi confirm kiya hai apne answer keys me.
Baaki toh discussions ka koi end hi nahi hai.
@saurabher43267kisi ke pas chenab ka source hai kya... please share
I marked Sutlej as answer. Chenab ka kisi book me toh nahi hai.
Hello guys .. alot of bloodshed has been happening so please dont beat me or cuss at me when I say this ..
so I spoke to one of my professors at DU (Political science department) about that polity question - safeguards of liberty in a liberal democracy and she definitely says the answer is Elected Government. She said though separation of powers and rule of law are other ingredients but all of them wont be possible if a state does not have anelectedgovernmentat first (also the question specifically says liberal democracy) .. only then those things can be assured. She also told me that with respect to such questions - read some philosophers (even if not from an optional background) like Aristotle, JS mill , Berlin etc in free time and that may in general invoke some interest. Also despite my background in this subject , I haven’t taken PSIR optional so don’t think that I am in anyway advertising any optional .. just putting an end to this debate of “one of many interpretation “based questions.
I too marked Elected government option but ye wala galat hai. Mera 2 polity ke mistakes bahut bhaari padne wale hain. Doosra Article 32 mark kiya maine.
INDUS WATER TREATY CLEARLY SAYS PANJNAD RIVER IS INCLUDED IN CHENAB AND IT'S PANJNAD THAT TAKES WATER OF CHENAB AND SUTLEJ TO JOIN INDUS
Means Wrong information is given in D R Khullar Indian geography book.
The Hindu Article on Satluj... (2019)
Thanks for sharing this.
Pls see first part of question.
Three out of four given Rivers meet with 4th one..only Chenab fits in that criteria.
Sutlej may or may not drain directly, individually but Sutlej not taking waters from Jhelum and Ravi directly for sure.
I guess this was the trap.
Although, I want Satluj to be correct for mine +2 but I'm hopeless.
Where it was written in the question that all 3 other tributaries should directly drain into the 4th one. The combined water of all three tributaries drain into Sutlej and it can be found in the book also. Also Sutlej by length is the longest tributary of Indus and this is a Fact.
Even if Upsc gives the answer Chenab or even Jhelum, we can't do anything.
The only advice I can give to people who are here is that to get a job after 2-3 failed attempts. You may discover new and beautiful areas of life, and then come back (or dont if you like there only). Your trauma will lessen.
If someone has prepared for years and attempted even 3-4 times, then he/ she will not get satisfaction anywhere and in any job. This exam has a very bad effect ( especially mental health effect) on any other future job options whether in private, psu or even state pcs jobs. It completely destroy the joy inside you in case of failure with attempt/ age exhausted.
Only final success with a rank gets you a peace.
I know three relatively easy questions in polity may ruin my chances: Right to property to only citizens ( wrong ), Article 32 marked ( wrong) and Elected govt. Marked ( wrong).
Getting only 85 ( obc) considering doubtful questions wrong Sutlej ( wrong) , Pressure cooker (1&3) wrong, Smelting D ( wrong).
