Hello 2021 aspirants. I thought it would be nice if we can share what we are doing and intend to do with one another here.
This could be a thread for discussing everything prep for 2021.
No one method fits all but to see the plans and progress made by fellow aspirants might help with the finer details of preparation and also keep one on track.

Though it is a crime to speculate about this barely 8-9 days before exam, As a doctor I feel it should be postponed.. Metro cities especially Mumbai & Delhi are in early stage of exponential curve. Aspirants have to travel & stay in these cities in hotels for 10 days which make them easy prey for this new variant. Even milder disease at that juncture can prove disastrous.
Note:- though I feel so, chances of postponement are very low as UPSC won't do it unless pushed by Govt.. So better to focus on studies
I missed out on a few days of studies due to sickness. So I really need to make the most of these remaining 10 days to cover up for that. Will be posting daily targets to amp up the pressure.
Targets for today:
1) Must Do
a) Solve 2 maths mocks (including extra questions)
b) Essay brainstorm 4 topics
2) Do if time permits
a) 30 minutes for data revision / short notes
b) Revise one 2020 maths mock
1) a) 75% done b) 50% done
2) a) not done b) 25% done
Yesterday was a better day in terms of momentum. But I still need to do more.
Today's targets
a) Maths 2 mock tests
b) 2 essay topics brainstorm
c) Revise miscellaneous stuff in free time
@leftfaithinmyself Very little, central government entire focus is on elections
Best chance to delay election till 2024. Hope Central Government play real politics now. Can be a good case study for one nation one election.
Jai Shree Ram !

Q-7
1. What % of answer space should be given to (a)
2. In (b), 'discuss the options' means?
- Do we have to list down merits/demerits of each possible options as well?
- Do we have to choose our course of action?
They'd given this directive in Q10 where specifically CoA was asked.
@Neyawn . This
Some of the post pandemic trends on the line of which question can be asked:1. Work from home which changed perception towards technology development and reduced pressure on metro cities. Negative impact is extra burden for children care on women and domestic abuse2. Vaccine nationalisma and deglobalisation3. Self reliance due to disruption of global supply chain4. Digitization leading to E- learning but this increased the digital divide further5. Increase in capital intensive industries due to reverse migration6. Increased focus on health infra and internal sanitation standards like touchless delivery of product to home, less face to face interaction giving rise to digital apps like Dhani health, practoAny other trend which you have seen ?
BIG State as role of state has increased B3W/ Cornwall consensus , American jobs plan etc; authoritarianism or dictatorial tendencies like dismissing question hour , Hungary's victor orban dismissing elections aka coronavirus coup / pandemic democratic backsliding; surveillance state in name of contact tracing ; diversification of global supply chains - angel Merkel criticizing India for failing to deliver vaccines and for the vulnerabilies of such dependence on other countries for production.
Impact on social sphere - change in big fat Indian wedding ;change in family structure like nuclear family to temporary joint family as people moved to villages during CoVid, millenials moving back with parents to avoid rent and WFH
Edit - few more came to mind : economic reforms as Indian reforms happen either through stealth or a crisis; demand for govt jobs kyuki pandemic sabko pta chal gya govt job is best job 😆; edutech sector boom and faltu ke unicorns iñ a bloated market.
Can we underline keywords in the question, just to understand the question better, in Mains Copies? Or it won't be allowed?

I was reading the Cambridge Tracker thing. It is eerie how close to the actual numbers the predictive model is. It predicts a sharp increase this week. So....
