didnt company get both nizamat and diwani rights ?
.
@sjerngal"With the Treaty of Allahabad, the English East India Company gained the Diwani rights while the Nizamat functions were given to the Nawab. Lord Clive chose not to take over the administration of Bengal directly; this responsibility was left to the Nawab’s Naib Diwan and Naib Nazim Muhammad Raza Khan."this is what this gradeup efpo tst series says. cant vouch for their veracity though
Ok you are right. I just checked.
- The emperor had to issue a Farman granting the Diwani of Bengal, Bihar and Orissa to the East India Company in lieu of an annual payment of Rs 26 lakh;
- Shah Alam had to abide by a provision of Rs 53 lakh to the Company in return for the Nizamat functions (military defence, police, and administration of justice) of the said provinces.
Doubt:
Western ghat meet Deccan plateau at which place ??
Eastern ghats meet deccan plateau in Satkosia TR Orissa (given in PT)
Western Ghats meets the Deccan Plateau at Bandipur NP I think (source: Wikipedia page of Bandipur NP). Also Satkosia being where the Eastern Ghats and Deccan Plateau meet is probably the right, since the Satkosia Gorge is in the Eastern Ghats while the Baisapalli WS is in the Deccan Pleateau.
