Can anyone pls explain the acquisition of property under executive power ? it reads that the executive has power to acquire any property along with disposal etc , but article 300a also mentions that no proeprty can be acquired unless there is a law?

@sstarrr There is a law for this purpose, 'Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation & Resettlement Act, 2013' and the executive's role is to implement the law. So I feel this is the answer to your doubt.

@sstarrr Arrey don't get into these Psychology classes ....If possible study from textbooks ; video lectures , notes and PYQ's. Or any cheap institute. BY far institutes  of delhi are pathetic. Rather could look for shankarias psy

Effect of acid rains on lichens

According to vision test -8 ,Q-75 -- acid rain lead to high production of lichens on affected trees

But on searching online..get to know that acid rains has negative effect on lichens as lichens is sensitive to sulphur and acid rain contains Sulphur compounds.

So what is considered as correct??

@batman010827054 imo, Vision should have worded the it as a ‘can’ question.

However, acid rain can have both impacts. Certain lichens are harmed whilst certain lichens show greater distribution. I think it’s because of Nitrogen content which in lightly acidic rains could favour lichens growing over alkaline surfaces.

Doubt about the density of continental and oceanic crust-

page no 25, ncert, physical geography says that continental crust is made up of heavier rocks having a density of 3 g/cm3.

The mean density of oceanic crust is 2.7 g/cm3.

G.C.Leong on the other hand says quite the opposite. That is, continental is 2.7 and oceanic is 3.

What should be our response if a question asks us about which one is denser?

NCERT is actually wrong on that one. I also remember coming across this while studying. It's probably a printing mistake or something
Oceanic Crust is thicker and it's density is 3 whereas continental crust has density 2.7g/cm3

Oceanic crust has to be the more dense one or else in subduction the oceanic crust wouldn't be the one to go below the continental crust.

NCERT has a mistake in this regard. This has been pointed by many faculty . Oceanic is denser then continental.

Moreover an example: when two plate collide subduction of heavier plates occur. .In case of Oceanic - continental crust , subduction of oceanic plates occur.
