Everyone has got a fair chance to clear the exam.
Fresher - more energy, enthusiasm, new perspective - if coaching is taken in the preceding year things are fresh in mind. Also expectations are less. If age is less then other life compulsions are not weighing them down. Insecurity regarding knowledge, syllabus coverage, fear of forgetting, exam pattern knowledge are the issues. If these are tackled high chances of clearing in 1st, 2nd attempts.
Veteran - knowledge, exam understanding etc are strengths. Age, financial issues, other life compulsions are very heavy loads to carry. Syllabus has to completed and learnt for each exam cycle. Dwindling self confidence, family expectations, societal pressure increases with each attempt. Thus here mental and emotional strength plays a greater role.
Due to ample guidance, free material and access, test series etc, it has become easier for freshers to bridge the knowledge gap. Internet has revolutionised the prep.
Both freshers and veterans have their loads to carry. It depends on the person, the strength of their character, ability to face adversity, emotional intelligence to sail through.
Most importantly cse is indeed an unique journey. It is an amalgamation of ‘n’ no of factors. One has to hone themselves in their weaker areas. For some it may be knowledge and exam understanding (which is easier to cultivate) for others mental & emotional strength which is tough to master.
Not everyone has the same starting point, journeys. And thats okay.
As long as one is able to understand their deficits and overcome them, there is a fair chance of clearing the exam.
2020 was a great exception in my opinion. otherwise for tough papers cutoff of 2018 abd 2019 i.e. 98, for ur may apply for 2021 too. I have begun to got those vibes don't know why. Feeling nervous at 100 obc
Possible.. Magar just for info. Did you give the earlier attempts and wondering whether you felt this year was easier/at same level?
