Because of the corona virus issue? If it does not happen then worst affected will be people whose interview is stuck, around 600-700 such people I think are yet to appear for their interview.
@neyawn sir and others, what is your take?
This is the official Thread for discussion of Prelims Postponement, Please do not create new threads for the same.
But if a question comes with something like according to recent discoveries, then mark 600.
@Katy_Singh 300BC. Abhi ye exploration phase me hi hai.

OK, THANK YOU!
Recently researches discoverd a new strain of virus in all upsc aspirants. They named it EvaCADUPSC aspirants think that they are special.....ππππππ
@Sadhika
Agree! While we may expect the Govt to behave in an ideal way, it generally doesn't. Classic example is Maharashtra Govt. filing PIL against UGC, while itself going ahead with MPSC exams.
Also, it is the Executive which is expected have direct ears of the masses. Once it has taken or sticks to its call, I doubt if Judiciary will completely change that. At max, they will advise to follow SOPs dilligently.
All said and done, I just have one Question to UPSC that why it did not increase the numbers of cities conducting Prelims. That was completely feasible and would have demonstrated an honest intent on their part. While other testing agencies increased their centres, UPSC (supposedly the most efficient) did not. If I were the PIL petitioner, I would have asked just this single question, again and again and again!
"Corona ke vajah se exam postpone karane ki baat ho rahi thi kal tak to, ab ye UPSC ko suggestions dene wale kahan se paida ho gae?
Jinhone UPSC ka pura syllabus bhi nahi padha abhi tak lag raha hai wo log suggest kar rhe ki ye year hi khatm kar do, taki unko excuse mil jae ki padhe to hum bhot the but exam hi nahi hua.π "

Many aspirants above are mocking people on how they think themselves capable enough of giving suggestions to UPSC?
Last I checked, we were living in a democracy and everyone has a right to his/her opinion. If giving suggestions brings mockery on a platform where future policymakers are sitting, it smells like a bad omen.
Every citizen has a right to an opinion and to express the same, be it to the UPSC or the Prime Minister.
The efficacy of the opinion is open to critical analysis, not to ridicule.
Let us not try to be elitist here. :)
Sure sir, every person has the right to give suggestions to anyone in their personal capacity but some people are trying the represent the whole Aspirant community and on their behalf they are suggesting something so stupid which tends to show how irresponsible and naive the whole community is! And that is the problem here..
Either you say that it's your personal opinion or don't say such random things at all.. that's what we as aspirants must know and learn!
And that statement of a person, who chose to exercise his right to freedom of speech is in the media rn.. π€¦ on behalf of all the other aspirants π€¦π€¦
PS: Stop your moral policing right there! π
I genuinely don't understand how people are considering the possibility that exams will be postponed and some even calling for cancellation or merger. (Read it here, only avenue I have)
UP has conducted two major exams in this month in which lakhs of candidates appeared. Other states are also going ahead.
Most of the activities of pre covid times have resumed with some on paper instructions.
Epidemiological models which projected high death and infections by July have failed. Test/M population is increasing. Death/M population is low compared to world average. Even if we are testing low, cfr is also low. This shows that strain is weak(?) in India. (Apologies if it sounds insensitive.)
Also SC would(should) not encroach upon executive to the extent which is being speculated. Exam taking bodies have the main say.
Every life is crucial but I don't think that decisions will be taken keeping this in mind. Utilitarianism 101.
Covid anxieties in India have already plateaued much before the curve. It is in plain sight just outside our windows.
I hope genuine concerns of students are addressed.
Later on the other side of the storm.
All the Best.
Also no photos yet of aspirants flouting social distancing norms in today's exm conducted by uppsc
Anyone here think that UPSC should scrap CSAT this year and take the GS paper around 11 AM or 12 PM rather than usual time which is a bit early in the morning?
This will ensure that those aspirants who have to make 3+ hours journey to their center do not have to spend previous night at any hotel. Reduces their chance of contracting virus. Also, no need to stay around exam center for 2+ hours due to gap between GS and CSAT paper.
Well this doesn't look like social distancing though.
Guys don't fight, this thread was very civil as far as I remember few days back, I can see some angry voices here now. Let's not Call each other names, we need positivity in times of Corona :) I think everyone just wants the best possible solution out of this situation :)
"positivity" is the last thing we need in the times of corona :P
love in the time of coronasuits better.
"The reason so many people misunderstand so many issues is not that these issues are so complex, but that people do not want a factual or analytical explanation that leaves them emotionally unsatisfied. They want villains to hate and heroes to cheer - and they don't want explanations that do not give them that."
--Thomas Sowell.
On that note logging out of here.
All the Best to all. :)
P.S. Last parting message got people worked up so drafting again as goodbyes are important. (Kinda old school) :D
Wish you the best as well! To leave things ona lighter note, here I offer you a meme as a gesture of peace. :P
