[Results] Prelims 2020 Over - Gearing for 2021

Because of the corona virus issue? If it does not happen then worst affected will be people whose interview is stuck, around 600-700 such people I think are yet to appear for their interview.

@neyawn sir and others, what is your take?

This is the official Thread for discussion of Prelims Postponement, Please do not create new threads for the same.

Marks will be released after 7 sept - UPSC website

It's all happening with UPSC 2019, first delay in mains result. Then delay in interviews due to COVID19 and now this.

It's bit frustrating that it will be nearly a year after writing mains to now what exactly went wrong so I wasn't able to get 751 marks.

Still it is after 7 sept, so we don't know exactly when.

Ah, you brutal journey UPSC.

It's too weird on the upsc side. When they already have the marksheet ready, what sense does it make it withhold it for one more month.

Atleast they can release prelims & mains not qualified candidates marks

Something seems seriously wrong....they have not even released the marks of selected candidates till now. They can declare cutoffs but not marks, cant understand the logic behind it.

@AbhishekV UPSC is only concerned about recommending some names for the posts. It gives a damn about Aspirants interests. Here and there it can accomodate few interests as long as it doesnt affect the process much. But ya overall it doesnt care about aspirants.

Hopefully someday UPSC becomes more transparent and accountable that it will make UPSC journey for both successful and unsuccessful aspirants cheerful and not as brutal as it is now

Exactly!

If they are speculating that "some event" can change the marks, then won't it affect the final rank list. Will they republish the final list in such a case?

@deceptrix  True for all those ~9k people who didn't qualify for interview. (As 9 months will pass by then)
But we do know that we have to prepare for the next one with these frustrating times.

May be they have left some qualified candidates inadvertently. Don't know but something is seriously wrong . not releasing marks is not upto the standard of upsc.

Slow claps to upsc. Though i don't care about marklist(it hardly helped me in the past), this delay is unprofessional. Will the marks of candidates change from now and Sept7?

OK. Someone on Twitter is raising issue of discrimination during interview with Reserved category candidates.

According to them, all UPSC Memebers  are from Upper Caste. Not a single Category Member. So, they think it's not equitable representation, affecting selection process.

They are demanding release of last 10 years of marks of Mains and interview of all candidates whether reserved or not on public platform. It is to scrutinize their accusation about discrimination of reserved category candidates in interview.

So (assumption), maybe UPSC is waiting to let die this uproar of Information Demanding on social media. Once everything is calm then maybe, they will release the result.

I mean may be there is some computational error.

Personally I think there is no such discrimination.
