@Caesarmiles to go before judging its good or bad

@DKTIt is so good to read this. I remember the post ,where you shared about leaving 250 marks or so. AND, even after reading all these discussions , you have built this confidence because you must have written very well.

Hope to see you in top 50.

But, just a little caution ......
I feel sometimes girlfriends ( Hindu , in your case ) don't stand up to our expectations. I hope you should not raise your expectations to that high a notch , which may be very harmful if bychance you are not valued the way you think.

Further , we must be confident about our preparation and know where we stand. Here , sometimes everyone start underestimating themselves just to show that their exams went worse than others. You have done good in enunciating about your experience.

All the best

@CaesarIt's needed that we have domain expertise and knowledge because it is no longer level 1 problems of roti kapda and makan that we need to solve only. Complexity is new normal and hence retrograde bureaucracy needs a fillip. That said, lateral entry is very much welcomed but surely not enough. Already available existing cadre at hand can be moulded too. But I have a doubt. Do you all think the bureaucracy is too much in adherence to the ways of past that they have given up soft ways to reform and are focusing on lateral entry? The recent firing of officers from IRS and all due to non performance does indicate they do not have confidence in their own soft nudging power anymore. Stubborn bureaucrats? Passive governance? I really don't understand this completely.

@ranyo_asokaYeah still murky all around. What benefits or not yet to completely understand. Clearly the enthusiasm for lateral entry has no takers anymore though.

@CaesarThey want specialists..but when some 30 year old from private sector reaches till interview stage, they favor him less compared to the 1st attempt guy. Catch them young they say, then specialist knowledge ayega kaha se

@vvvikas0078212Many people are of opinion that learning is continuous process. If someone likes a subject/work he can learn it at any stage of life. Then what is the point of putting attention on catching young candidates. Even young candidates have to learn new skills n knowledge after they cross 30 to remain productive in service.

Only benefit in recruiting large number of young aspirants is that one can mould their opinion as per own political agenda

Unless lateral entry means recruiting technical specialists and not mere MBA shampoo sellers , I all for it?

Is motor vehicle act applicable in SEZ ?

@TeddyWestsideshort answer, yes. Long answer: depends upon the facts of the case. (Customs related issues may have slight differences in applicability of MV Act).

@CaesarWay to politicize the bureaucracy. People just love to underestimate the importance of generalists.

@foxmulderi just want to add my 2 cents to that..when we are outsider it is simply case of black and white but when one is inside the system there are multiple shades of grey some are darker some are light ther hover between right and wrong ..if many officers not taking stand that does not mean they are putting blind eye to things..not all things need attention..there are lot of intricacies involved..
Even in our day to day life we follow flexibility in things which might not be ethical to one or other person

Sometimes it gets over the top, like a Doc should be health secy and so on.

Great analysis. But to ur last point I have a slightly different take. I think if marking is tough the one who have attempted paper well will be at relative advantage as in tough times marking difference between highest and lowest marks gets increased and in easy marking it gap is low. It's just my opinion. What u think?
