Mains 2019 Preparation and Discussion Thread
Now that 1 week is over, it is time to shift focus to Mains. With barely 103 days left there is no time to waste.

Like any other exam UPSC too requires certain kind of skillset
....either you have it or you acquire it over a period of time...someone has said this on forum earlier too..the skill is writing a convincing answer..people who have it clear upsc year after year..rest of us try to learn it..some succeed some don't.
Personal opinion...you may disagree.

Civil services is just one of the infinite opportunities we have these days.
Sab IAS, IPS bann jaaenge toh ULTRARICH kaun banega ?
There is a spot for all of us in this huge world and our destiny will drive us towards it eventually.
To be honest, i will never force my parents to sell their house to get me into the Civil services. Apne matlab ke liye unko kyun homeless karna.
(Agar woh homeless ho gye toh saala koi chutiya YouTuber aaega aur video banaega "surprising homeless people". Hahah)
As a wrap up, main bass yeh kehna chahta hoon ki jo log kuch bada achieve karna chahte hain, woh achieve karenge. Nobody can stop them. Not getting into Service is OK. Many people may not agree with me today but they will after 3-4 years jab unki life mein achi cheezein hone lagengi.
The show must go on, we have got just one life, civil servant banke extra life Nahi mil jaaegi.
Isliye jiyo bhai, enjoy karo, have a balance between this exam and your life.
Hum aspirants mein se bhi kaafi log hain jo dil se kuch aur karna chahte hain....woh kisi aur cheez mein behtar hain par due to various circumstances...they are a part of this journey.

Aajkal to tension itni jaada hai ki kahi bhi mann nahi lag rha...kal ek party mein gya...poori party mein hi ek corner mein baithke upsc ki website check kar rha tha aur soch rha tha ki kaun jaada kush hai ye log jo naach rahe hai yaa mein jo 5 saal se ek bhi exam clear nahi kar paaya.....samajh hi nahi aa rha kya ho rha hai...sometimes i feel i am dying....bas ab to umeed pe duniya kayam hai...apne alarm ka naam bhi maine "apna time aayega" kar rkaha hai....all the best to everyone...
@KatsumotoBhai chinta mat karo, kuch saal bad aap other side me hoge and koi aur apki jagah website check kr rha hga, phir usko bolna ki uska time bhi aayega..

my only regret is that my youth is getting wasted in upsc preparation. after you have prepared well one time, additional learning in further attempts is minuscule. so, don't even have the satisfaction that although at the cost of the prime time of my life, i am doing something constructive. bhakkkk
Dekho boss.. You are mixing two things..
Youth getting wasted is a concept not known to Indian Social System. Kyunki Youth ka kaam mehnat karna hi tha as per Purusha Dharma. Aur sir aap mehnat kar rhe ho.
Youth enjoying the best of life and earning money is more is more of post world war Western Materialistic philosophy. (even we had charvak)
Aap India mein rehte ho jahan civil services mein success is cherished Indian value. Playing cricket and being on top of your game is also another cherished dream and value.
Being successful doesn't come easy. Virat Kohli ko hi dekh lo.. See his earlier 2010,2011 innings, you would see So So Many flaws in his technique. But guy worked off his youth practicing and see the result..
Same goes for you.. Hustle everyday !!
PS: Dieting is tough. Very very Tough.. Tongue is one of the sense organ. Aur usko deprive karna is really tough.
It would be a little odd to ask this question when we all are eagerly waiting for the mains results but I shall be thankful if anybody here can answer .1) has anybody read all 15 reports of 2nd arc...2) plz suggest an effective method to do so(notemaking and all) if the answer to first question is yes.

@STHaan pehle socha tha ki har bachha itne torture ke baad 1 mahina to masti karta hi hoga.Isliye 1 november se padhne ka plan tha.Fir 20-22 november ke aas pass the padhai kari.Fir ek shaadi ke karan break aa gaya.Uske baad jab bhi kitaab kholo result aur number aur future ki tension ho jaati hai.#complete waste post that.
