Now that 1 week is over, it is time to shift focus to Mains. With barely 103 days left there is no time to waste.
@vasumandy15373Thanks for explaining
. I had wrong interpretation ...
@bevancomYes issue jis level ka hai protests bhi vaise hi honge. IITs me usually peaceful march type hi hota hai just to show solidarity. But JNU and other universities are known for their political opinions. CAB issue is highly critical for the nations, that's why protest are of this level.
@vvvikas0078212Nation*
@vvvikas0078212maybe it's the culture of colleges.Some colleges will always be more politically involved than others..
Guys I have a different take on cab.. Please let me know your comments

Have a look at bit different opinion also https://bit.ly/2EeWYm5
@Tetsukoyeah these arguments we're missed by mainstream media and by people who are opposing bill in totality
@kaushik8890
First CAA is against Art 14.
What I don't understand is why they named religion in the Act! Because according to report (don't remember which) there are 19 Crore migrants in East from Bangladesh. Out of which 14 Crore are Hindus.
Also, fear of Rohingyas coming to India won't be any problem as we ain't giving citizenship to Myanmar Minorities through this act.
Also, fear of Assames are real. Only Schedule VI area iss exempted. So, They are just trying to preserve their culture and language. Because after this act, people from Bangladesh would settle in neighbouring state, not far away in Kerela.
I guess they should have discussed this bill more through standing committee and states. But anyway, incumbent govt is bullying their way because of majority in the house. President should have returned the bill for more discussion... But it's an Act now.
@Jayson_BourneBecause even if people with “humanitarian” views agree or not non Islamic religions have been persecuted historically in Pak and Bangla equal to ethnic cleansing and lakhs of them have no one to turn to except India!
Yes I second the concerns of Assamese for sure,they are the worst affected demographically.
But not the concerns of Indian citizens of a particular faith taking to streets outside NE and burning things like goons and chanting shit!
@Jayson_Bourne19 crore migrants? Are you sure about what you are saying? Largely agree with other things you said though. This isn't a sort of bill which should be passed like this. Just look at the chaos it has caused.
@ManchesterUnitedI think their concern isn't just CAB. They fear NRC plus CAB combo which they feel will make many of them stateless. I also feel pan Indian NRC would be a massive humanitarian crisis. Our HM seems very keen for that.
Second, they are terrified of how BJP can pass anything they want to do easily now without any consultation or discussion. Many also feel court is partisan now. In an ideal world, we should aim to assuage these concerns instead of calling names to protesters.
@Jayson_Bourne19 crores migrants? Then, it is more than Bangladesh population. Whole Bangladesh population is just 163 millions.
Migrants are only in lacks, not in crores.
@kochikaameSir,with all due respect if you are an Indian of any faith you shouldn’t not worry!
And if you read CAB it one fast forwards naturalisation for few communities and does not bar anyone from naturalisation!
The reason quoted for that is that these communities are a persecuted minorities!
And fearing is subjective!
This is not a dictatorship!It is a thumping majority government which is doing things promised in its manifesto!
Talking of judiciary I am sure you are aware of Shabrimala verdict!We in south are huge devotees of Aiyappa Swami and aren’t our concerns respected?Should I loose hopes on judiciary?
@kochikaameabsolutely CAB with NRC is deadly combination. CAB alone is a good thing. As Shekhar gupta has rightly said CAB is like a rocket which when tipped with ammunition will be deadly but at the same time it can also be used to carry satellites n all .
@Bubba_gumpSir I am kind of lost here!
How will NRC affect anyone who can proove he is a citizen?
This is a genuine question sir and not a rhetoric!
@ManchesterUnitedI am talking about Pan India NRC .
Do you remember the supreme court order which ordered to evict lots of tribals. One of the cause was tribals couldn't prove that it was their land .If they couldn't prove ownership of their land .How can it be expected that they will be able to prove their nationality .
@ManchesterUnitedyou didn't get my point friend. I didn't say CAB is a big issue in itself. NRC is a huge issue and because of CAB, only Muslims will be the ones facing issue from NRC as others will get citizenship.
Also, government fulfilling its manifesto is good but there's a way and convention of doing things. The way triple talaq, Kashmir and CAB bills have passed is making people insecure. No role of committees, minimum discussion etc. It's basically brute majority and lack of consulting any stakeholder.
Yes, I disagree with sabarimala judgement too but this is a separate issue.
By the way, I am a North Indian Hindu living in Mumbai. I won't be affected by CAB or NRC but I don't want my country or countrymen in chaos.
@ManchesterUnitedbecause many people, particularly poor won't have documental proofs of them living in India before 1971 or whatever the cutoff year is.
@Bubba_gumpOk then!
The basic concern is tribal rights then?
These protests,vandalism,sloganeering is done for tribal welfare?
Common bro!
@Jayson_Bourneit is not against article 14...sc has in the past also said country can impose reasonable classification
