Because of the corona virus issue? If it does not happen then worst affected will be people whose interview is stuck, around 600-700 such people I think are yet to appear for their interview.
@neyawn sir and others, what is your take?
This is the official Thread for discussion of Prelims Postponement, Please do not create new threads for the same.
Last minute tips-----
1-reserve last 2-3 days for current affairs only. It will hepl u retaining facts more effectively.
2- solve atleast 2 papers for csat (even u r good in maths, reasoning etc)
3--in coming 4 days try to do quick revision of important toipcs only(going through whole syllabus is neither possible nor effective way at this moment).
4-buddhism, jainism, sufism and bhaktism, iqtadari, mansandari, zamindari, important innovations during sultanat etc(lucent is one of the best source)
Modern history---ready reference data of spectrum, gist of chapters in spectrum.
Polity--mandar patki notes
Economy--current affairs will cover most of the topics+ inflation, banking, instruments of financial and money market.
Current affairs --- important schemes related to public at large(one of the most beneficial one and popular), important treaties related to EU-INDIA, USA etc,
Have a look on last year solved question papers of UPSC also.
At last -- be confident and try to use elimination, common sense (it will surely help u solve 3/4 question easily) along with ur knowledge of topics.
I hope it will help u all.
Thanks friend. That’s pretty much the plan I’m following. And if your name is a reference to the song from Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi, thanks for reminding me of it :)
How is revision going on for you guys?
I have entered the zone where all I feel is that I am lagging behind and haven't studied this or that. So doing static as it gives some sense of completion. How are you guys coping?
The feeling of this time being the last time I’m reading something before the exam is scary! Always thought ki agli baar dimaag me in baith jayega, but now no agli baar. I’m giving myself strict time slots for a topic, usme jitna hota hai utna hoga, baaki ki responsibility long-term memory ki.
But somehow weirdly, as nerve wracking and stressful these last few days are, I am acutely aware of the fact that they’re... special. I feel lucky ki yeh UPSC ki chunauti uthayi hai. As challenges go it’s a damn awesome one to have :)
If we miss it, we'll be like, yaar pandemic me jaan bachate ki padhte. Jaan hai to jahaan hai after all! :D :P

Me telling other forum members----
I am myself having this pretty strange thing. As days are passing and the exam is closing in, I am studying less and less, IDK Why. It is not overconfidence, a very strange feeling. I am not happy with it but trying to make peace with it.
My long and arduous mask search finally reached a satisfactory conclusion - found these. Super breathable - felt completely normal after getting used to it. Would suggest it@TheNotorious - though they are bright pastels with cute hand paintings - what is considered... girly :p (though the black one is not). But would definitely recommend to anyone!
Somehow the closer the exam gets, the more I find myself turning to the Forum. I used to think it was only because the brain wanted distraction, but it’s reassurance it wants. :) Mujhhe toh feeling aarahi hai ki agle Sunday ko KBC khelne jaa rahi hoon.
Thanks for the suggestion. :D

This is beautiful and so relatable.
I feel these moments are invaluable, and that something amazing is just round the corner. :)
Also, it's the last week!! When I failed Prelims last year, and moreover when the lockdown was announced, this week felt so far away. I felt that the thing I was swimming towards was on a motorboat racing fast across the water. I had lost the will to keep pushing towards it. In those times, depressed as I was, I found joy in the simplest of things and the most amazing people ranging from my mother to my girlfriend to all you beautiful strangers on the internet.
I got in touch with music again, which was a constant reminder that my liberation could only come from within and not from a change of external circumstances. So, if any of you are finding themselves incapable of dealing with the pressure and the anxiety they've imposed upon themselves, here is a song for you:
There's no need to fear the outcome next Sunday. Your capacity for suffering is much greater than what this exam can inflict. Focus on the process and the results will follow. Also, I'll be posting a song a day in this thread just to keep spirits high! :)
Goodest of vibes only!
@Patootie Glad to see you back :D
It's lovely to be back my friend!
@whatonly Somehow most of the aspirants I am talking to this time around, the fear for the exam is comparatively less. Maybe the pandemic has numbed the minds or this attempt is being given with the knowledge that it is an unusual year so detach yourself from the result.
I am myself having this pretty strange thing. As days are passing and the exam is closing in, I am studying less and less, IDK Why. It is not overconfidence, a very strange feeling. I am not happy with it but trying to make peace with it.
Ditto. It’s my first prelims and I did NOT expect this state of mind a week before D-day. Beginning to get a little stressed by how un-stressed I am feeling :P you’re probably right! Pandemic has upturned all frames of reference. Plus being in prelims mode for seven-eight months... makes you want to just get it over with! Hope you have a good week ahead :)

LOVE THE SONG. THANK YOUUUU. For some reason it reminds me of Fix You, my jam during the dark days of JEE prep - I like this one much better, but it has the same mellow soothing quality! And you have such a lovely way with words :) I’m so glad to have found this place. Hope you have a good week ahead - the choicest of good vibes to you!
@Kapiushon @whatonly,I'm so glad you guys like it! If you're into this kind of music, do check out bands like The Lumineers, Novo Amor, Sufjan Stevens, Sleeping at Last, Matthew Mole, The Shins, When Chai Met Toast, Gregory Alan Isakov when you guys get time. :)
