Because of the corona virus issue? If it does not happen then worst affected will be people whose interview is stuck, around 600-700 such people I think are yet to appear for their interview.
@neyawn sir and others, what is your take?
This is the official Thread for discussion of Prelims Postponement, Please do not create new threads for the same.
@gauravbrly409 yes. without looking at the other options.
same thing for MPLAD. I didnt even read other option... Just thought one is wrong ... eliminated and happily bubbled. But .. Who knows ... the horror is coming at forum. .. and I am watching it silently. That question is lost... I see very little hope that mine will be correct.
Can anybody help regarding the following-
Q. Which part of the constitution of India declares ideal of welfare state ? For this question, all answer keys have provided answer as DPSP.
I marked it as preamble thinking that preamble is a declaration mentioning social, economic justice, equality without explaining in detail. But DPSP is not just declaration rather it explains in detail what welfare state actually is.
Question only talks abt part which declares. I think preamble declares ideal which reflect welfare state whereas DPSP is part where welfare state is not just declared, it is mentioned that too in great detail.
Does anybody else also think the same way.
Bro it's not an analytical question, u need not analyse it. It's a factual question. During CAD it was heavily debated. Due to paucity of resources available to the government it was decided to place them undwr DPSP. As and when resources increased many of these provisions have been given legal affect e.g. ARTICLE 21A.
i have very bleak chances to clear pre
after attempting this pre,i am planning to leave this preparation(nahi ho payega humse) and get back to IT jobs
aur ek man yeh bhi keh raha hai ki ab upsc ke sath sath dedicated baki PSC and non-banking exams ki bhi tayari karu(banks exam ki maths reasoning mere upar se jaati hai )
in upsc i can develop my logical guesses,is exam me bhi i applied some logical guesses and derived the ans,but andh tukka marke ans laanayeh completely us din aapki kisma kaisi hai uspe depend karta hai
seniors plz suggest how to prepare others psc exam and others exam dedicatedly with uspc, jisne qualaified kia ho plz reply....bpsc december me hai
@Sherkhan1428 @Patootie @SergioRamos
Really can't comment much about that bhai. I hate State pcs exams, simply because they have questions like,
" Gandhi ji ke chashme ka number kya hai "
A ) 1.00022 B) 1.00023 C) 1.00024 D) tum se na ho paayega rehney do
UPSC still gives you the scope for reasoning. State PCS have minimal scope for that and hence i dont get the philosophy behind those exams.
MY suggestion: Your mind right now is bruised and you are hurt a little. Allow it to recover. Let nature take over and allow yourself to heal. If you still have chances to qualify, so be it. Cling on to it and prepare for the next 40 odd days. It will still be a win win at the end of 40 days , even if you don't qualify because you will have momentum and you can carry it into 2021.
Do not take such life altering decisions at this time because you will most likely choose an option which isn't the answer. Make what you will of that advice. But i hope you end up taking an informed decision. Cheer up and bounce back 1000 times harder. My prayers for your well being.
@Raillife , yahi satya hai! :D
For PSC, I'd like to add ki since there is no attempt issue, just give it on basis of UPSC prep and prepare for UPSC. God knows maybe you can clear prelims and then show your knowledge in mains. Do not do facts all at once. Give it 30 mins a day and in a year or so, you will have enough. But focus on UPSC for at least 1 more attempt. Do not give up too easily bro! We all are in this together!
thanks bhai, thank for the kind word
» show previous quotesAfter reading this , i am feeling ashamed of studying things all these years so seriously.Period.
One of my friends also gave the pre casually, he is not even a civil services aspirant nor he is planning to prepare for this exam in future. And he hasn't even seen the cover of laxmikant or spectrum or studied anything for this exam, so to speak. He gave the exam just to get the feel of it and for fun. After the exam I asked him how much you are getting, he said 70 marks after attempting close to 100 questions. I asked him how did he do it. He said by common sense, logic, and blind guesses. So it's true, it is possible to get good score by tukke baaji also especially in this paper coz current affairs portion was drastically reduced this time, it is difficult to guess in current affairs questions if you haven't studied them. The scope of tukkebaji and guessmastergiri is more in general science type of questions, biology, AI n Bio tech questions.
@gauravbrly409 thanks a lot, this gives me hope.I’ve only written once before and usmein the score dropped by a couple of marks. It’s possible this time too - but need to get out of that pessimism asap and focus on Mains.Ab toh nothing can be done about the paper, so shouldn’t worry and remain positive.
That depends... You just need not to worry much. Just study.
My score also dropped this year to 92 to 98 mx. Cant help it. Gud thing is I saved paper 2. So .. I am OK with whatever i am getting in Paper .. Rest is God's doing.
In 2017 and 2019 . .. I destroyed my paper 2 .. and Paper 2 took revenge by spoiling my two years.

Aye Aye sir.
I know it.
I qualified Pre in 2015 .. just by two months shallow study.
That lead me to leaving my job .. in 2016 .. Though I gave two interviews since then. But ,The reality is Pre dont matter no matter how you qualify. Final selection is what matters. And Final selection is very close competition after mains exam. Too competitive.. bcoz I lost 2018 final list just by 12 marks.. spoiled my interview badly.. Tukkas cant make or take anybody so far. I am myself an experiment of that.
@SergioRamos Hey preparing facts for 30 mins. I like that idea. Could you give a source too? :)
I personally think ..
The exam is now Objective mains. I mean .. Study for mains thoroughly and practice for pre on that basis. Paper is going towards more conceptual type than factual type .. It require more common sense and Calmness to solve paper than a mad rush to finish two rounds. I realized this in 2020.
Better one should prepare thoroughly for mains and just practice the pre things MCQ and questions to build aptitude to solve Objective questions from mains type topics which are being asked now in objective form. For ex - 4 statements per question .. Its too much .. If we prepare pre in regular rattafication way .. we will tend to do tukka in half of those.
it is either 3 or 123 for dams monsoon RC
but since author emphasizes only on creating space prior to monsoon.. will second option be wrong..hence 3 only
For statement 3
The world over, dams are constructed mainly for the purposes of irrigation, power generation, and flood control. While the first two roles are acknowledged, the role of dams in flood control has always been underestimated. It is unfortunate that in both irrigation and hydel projects, flood control is completely ignored.
For statement 2
However, it is unfortunate that the maximum amount of water is stored in reservoirs even before the close of the monsoon, only to ensure greater electricity generation and irrigation.
(Note risk is due to electricity generation and irrigation both...not hydropower alone)
hence most likely answer is 3 only here
Also the overall crux of article is “
There should be space for greater storage of water in reservoirs before the onset of monsoon
But the line 'before the close of the monsoon' also imply 'during monsoon' it must not be fully filled and the article also says about over dependence on hydel power means (Option a) is correct. So left with (option d)i.e.1,2 and 3
