Because of the corona virus issue? If it does not happen then worst affected will be people whose interview is stuck, around 600-700 such people I think are yet to appear for their interview.
@neyawn sir and others, what is your take?

Q.41) With reference to the history of India, consider the following pairs:
| In-charge of treasury of the State |
| 2. Banian | Indian agent of the East India Company |
| 3. Mirasidar | Designated revenue payer to the State |
Which of the pairs given above is/are correctly matched ?
(a) 1 and 2 only
(b) 2 and 3 only
(c) 3 only
(d) 1, 2 and 3
I have marked 3 only.
I remembered that - Gomestas are actually official agents of company. However, Baninans act as mediator for EIC to setup thier business and carry out trade and all such facilitation.
My understanding is below. Please let if I am wrong.
A contemporary described the banianas an individual, “By whom the English gentlemen in general conduct all their business. He is interpreter, head book-keeper, head secretary, head broker, the supplier of cash and cash-keeper, and in general also secret-keeper.”The term was used widely in Bengal to designate the native who managed the money concerns of the European and sometimes served him as an interpreter. In plain term, he was a commission agent for the Europeans traders.Thegomasthaswere Indian agents of the British East India Company, who signed bonds with the local weavers and artisans to deliver goods to the Company. They also fixed the prices of the goods.

Can someone add his inputs ?
@gauravbrly409 yes it seems correct for Gomashtas and answer should be 3 only and the same has been given in a couple of answer kerys as well .Rest depends on UPSC's interpretation .
Thanks.
Which answer key bro?
@Equalizer yes...who is stopping you from.marking D.if you feel.you are right, let it be, good for you....the only thing that matters is getting above the line..noone forced you to attempt less questions " because you cant take risk as you worked hard- logic given by some gauravbrly something"
They r demonizing the risk taking behaviour of fellow aspirants like them....the recent pattern of upsc has started from 2017..where risk is rewarded...I always attempt more than 95...knowing that in upsc above certain u cant have much accuracy...also rule of probability also favour risk taking behaviour in CSP...its old cobweb mindset of these people...who r ranting from last 3 days...in science questions there is no point in going deep...I even do not see the question in science like AI...and Mark's its D in split second....to be Frank..till did I had not read options of AI,benzene, biochar..n similar question....my self from good English college.. feels that if you go deep in science..u r bound to make mistake...my friend whose has expertise in agriculture has marked fertigation question wrong...till date I did not know anything about fertigatiin..still marked it right ..just playing with word/sentence...n it has always worked with me...I will be writing 5th mains this year with forest mains...n expecting 145 Mark's in gs in csp 2020( not boasting myself)...but i just wanted to show mirror to fault finding people ..who r demoninsh risk taking behaviour...last but not the least...there is difference between tikka and analytical approaching specially in dealing with science question...in CSP ..question r made for generalist n not for AI experts...
