SFG 2026 Level-1 Program starts 22nd December 2025

Dear Friends,

We are writing to inform you that we are coming up with the  Level-1 of Select Focus Group (SFG) 2026.  The Program will  start from 3rd week of December  and the  Entrance Test is scheduled for 16th November 2025 at 9:30 AM.

Registrations for the Entrance Test are now open and you can register by visiting:https://academy.forumias.com/events/

SFG is a unique initiative by ForumIAS designed to test the discipline, dedication, and perseverance of aspirants through 7 AM tests every day, 5-6 days a week, on a pre-planned syllabus, followed by a discussion on the same.

About SFG and How it is conducted
SFG is a test based course for Civil Services Prelims where tests are conducted 5 days in a week – at 7AM – in online and offline mode across several cities and centers. You get a daily rank-list in a few hours after you have written the test. You have some awesome post test discussions which you can attend online. You get a weekly ranklist every Sunday – so that you know how you are doing. At the end of the month / 4 weeks, you get a monthly rank-list. At this point, the bottom performing students are required to leave the program so as to not waste their money for a second month. This also ensures that the quality of crowd is maintained – which ensures when you make it to the list – finally – you will meet a lot of your SFG co-aspirants in LBSNAA. You can expect at least a hundred SFG folks every year in LBSNAA. You will know it when you get there.

SFG is conducted in two levels – Level 1 and Level 2. Both will be about 8-9 weeks duration. Level 1 commences from 3rd week of December and ends in the last week of February. Level 2 commences from 1st week of March and ends about 3-4 weeks before the actual prelims. Level 1 has book based questions

Level-1 of SFG 2026 is commencing from 3rd week of December and in this level we will focus on:

  • We will cover NCERTs and Basic books.
  • Including both static and current General Studies Paper-1 topics.
  • Questions pattern and difficulty level will be similar to UPSC CSE Prelims paper.
  • Focus on analytical skills, conceptual clarity, and knowledge consolidation.
  • We have dedicated every Saturday for CSAT test, which will be counted in your overall ranking.
  • Holistically covering PYQs from each topic as per the schedule.

Is there any thread for posting daily targets?

Or should I make one?

I'm thinking to create one, although I'm trying to post Prelims MCQs regularly.

@Najdorf @M_D_Sai_Kiran Let's discuss about targets & outline 6 months approach, so that this will go in a consistent manner

@Najdorf @cpt_Sandeep00001 Thanks, I'm thinking-

Most of aspirants study cluelessly in wrong direction (studying everything). so, instead of doing random targets- we can take topics/themes of syllabus and breakdown the syllabus as per time available till prelims.

Then, fixing sources and targets accordingly. If anyone having other value additions, please do comment. We will create a thread tomorrow.

@Najdorf  Great... Let's do targets as per SFG schedule only, here is the link :SFG level 1 schedule

(Daily 2 slots- GS static covered + A daily mock test)

Current affairs is our prelims question paper, so I'm thinking about the following sources for Current Affairs:

1.  ForumIAS blog-   7PM editorial, 9PM brief, 10PM daily CA quiz

2.  PadhAI-   Daily news articles simplified + relevant PYQs provided

(Daily 1 hr- Comprehensively covers CA+Static+PYQs)

Dear Students,

SFG is not just a test series—it is a high-octane discipline engine. However, simply taking the tests is not enough; you must know how to utilize the data, the feedback, and the routine to ensure you are consistently moving toward a 110+ score in Prelims.

To ensure you are using this powerful tool effectively, ForumIAS is organizing an exclusive online-only Mentorship Session How to Utilize SFG for Prelims 2026 on Sunday, 21st Dec. 2025 at 8:30 PM.

Here is the registration link for your reference:

Why This Session is Critical for Your Success

Many aspirants treat SFG as just another daily test. Mentors will show you how to treat it as a diagnostic tool to fix your preparation gaps. The session will cover:

  • Integrated Preparation: How to balance your static reading with the rigorous SFG daily schedule.
  • Gap Analysis: Techniques to identify whether your mistakes are due to a lack of knowledge, poor elimination skills, or exam-hall anxiety.
  • Strategy Refinement: A roadmap for Prelims 2026, showing you how to integrate SFG results into your long-term revision cycle.
  • Live Q&A: An interactive opportunity to have your specific preparation hurdles addressed by our expert mentors.
