Highly likely, as the petitioners asked for 1) an extra attempt next year, or 2) a "special" main exam for them alone, before the result of the conducted main exam is announced. This second demand means, till court gives the verdict, the result will be in limbo.

Looks like a pressure tactic. Nobody expects UPSC to conduct a special main exam for just three aspirants, therefore, may be that ridiculous demand was made knowing fully well that UPSC will be in a fix over time delay and will consider allowing an extra attempt as a special case.

@zombieland cleared NET exam for happiness of family in 2020.- Scored pretty low in Modern History yesterday n was thinking of using the NET certificate.- Google notifications showed some decent vacancies in my specialization.- Entered Forum n saw this discussion.Bahut coincidences. Haha!About Asst. Professor as career, money can never be an issue in comparison to an ethical/honest civil servant. For me inner satisfaction is the issue otherwise amazing opportunities!
See this case of inner satisfaction is good for those candidates who have clear cut goals in life. The problem of choosing a career is not for them. If one feels good as a prof then try for it.
Here we r more concerned about such candidates who r not clear abt their career. They r seeing pros nd cons of various fields and accrodingly choosing one field. Here various factors like salary, work pressure, political pressure... come into picture. One cannot say such candidates that chose one field that satisfies u when that candidate is not even aware of that field.
After filling top 6-7 preferences in dafII canfidates r more concerned about satisfaction or r following convention? Or on wat criteria one prioritize services after filling top 6-7 choices.

Please understand our case..
Candidate A goes to exam hall.. comes in contact with COVID positive candidate..
by the way.. no mask n social distancing is guarantee for protection..
If due to infection..the candidate is admitted to the hospital..n unable to attempt papers..
Candidate B also suffered from fever due to COVID.. but appeared somehow.. could barely write n complete the papers..
Answer Quality compromised greatly due to COVID..
This is grave injustice to them..
Those who could write in good health will certainly perform better..
Please say how this demand of re-exam is unjustified..

My prediction is if election result goes against the ruling party then this issue would be considered sympathetically, If they win then upsc won't agree and no chance would be granted.

I will differ. UPSC will come out with something called “interim result”which can be changed subject to outcomes of the said petition. So business as usual.
