I think leaving a few questions may actually have a positive impact. it may show you as honest person not messing up with questions you don't and also make evaluator's task easy . obviously not glorifying skipping questions but don't find it making any sense to attempt them if you are not prepared. devoting that time to other questions has always been my stand.

Discussion has become pretty interesting with someone expecting 800+ marks..
We were sympathising each other for average performance.. now grilling someone for performing a bit above our expectations...

I m expecting that my dream may come true..
I may be be wrong in my prediction.. but it is not my first attempt.. I have appeared for mains earlier and gauging my performance accordingly..

I m not claiming any rank.. I am guessing my performance in quantitative manner.. that's all..
I have tried my best this year..
Already scored 135, 141 in essay in earlier attempts..
258 in optional..
So please don't blame me for being overconfident..
I have said what I feel about my performance..
I don't mean to hurt sentiments of anyone..
I don't understand one thing..
People saying that I ruined my paper.. everyone gives sympathy to the person..
If someone says that I did well.. people will start labelling him/her ..
agreed. virtue is condemned bcoz it makes others feel lesser, victimhood is praised bcoz it makes others feel superior. proud of you for doing well. :D

Looks like tide is turning in the favour of DKT part 2...
He is less arrogant than his earlier version.. this is making his arguments more acceptable..
@HankShrader how have you evaluated your papers.i too evaluated my own paper and gave myself marks according to my mocks performance. to my surprise, i scored well. but as time passed i decided to downgrade by scores.have you seen any coaching solutions?
I have not gone through each and every model answers... Just the ones about which I felt I could have done better..
It is overall impression of the paper I have based my evaluation upon..
Gs1 .. have drawn world/Asia maps.. being geography optional student.. in mineral oil question.. highlighted arabian peninsula, Nigeria, siberian portion, Venezuela (missed USA though)
.. indian subcontinent..
alignment of mountains..alps, Himalayas, Andes, Rockies, Urals, Appalachian..etc..
Inspite of this I feel I may not touch 100 in GS 1 as socio part was very analytical..
The point is.. I have based my inner voice of satisfaction level..
Needless to say.. have followed IBC format in all questions..
Had practiced answer writing based on the strategy of Akshat Jain..AIR 2.. Key points and then subpoints.. I didn't number them though.. only used bullet or dash(-)...

its been in news for quite sometime now
ok on basis of my understanding on this issue, I think dkt probably points towards a person who claimed to have scored very very very good in upsc main. i have reason to believe that probably that person didn't score as well as they claimed. also I feel before results were declared, that person showed passion in claiming that his papers went well.
but this is just the way i tried to make sense of things the way i did of *MODERNISATION THESIS* in psir optional paper 2, the term I read first time in the paper yet chose to solve that 20 marker😂😂
