3. There is a difference in how commercial agents and economic agents perceive productivity. For commercial agents, productivity is a standalone concept that has little interactive value with a background that is more or less nonessential for such productivity. For economic agents, however, productivity can only make sense if it is linked to all possible factors within a milieu, the material product that is received at the end of the process is not merely equal to its material value but of is social, political and ecological value.

According to the passage, which among the following is advocated as a better definition of productivity, from the perspective of a society?

(a) Commercial definition of productivity, as perceived by the commercial agent

(b) Economic definition of productivity, as perceived by the economic agent

(c) Both (a) and (b)

(d) Neither (a) nor (b)

What is the method to solve this?

@Neyawn  12 mins lost over 8 days ~ 24 x 8 hrs.
Hence 1 min lost over 2 x 8 hrs = 16 hrs.

Hence 7 mins will be lost in 112 hrs = 4 days 16 hrs.
Hence (d)?

Not sure of the answer myself.

Yes, I am getting the same answer if I am assuming it lost 12 min over 8 days. We know it will show the right time at least once.

But what if, what it actually lost is 12h+12 min or 12*n h+ 12 min where n=0,1,2... etc, we don't know it only says 5 min slow on the next Wednesday.

Just crossed my mind.  What do you think?

But what if, what it actually lost is 24h+12 min or 24*n h+ 12 min where n=0,1,2... etc, we don't know it only says 5 min slow on the next Wednesday.

Just crossed my mind.  What do you think?

I was also confused about the same. But the option (a) is not possible, as it will show right time atleast once.

Now the 'next' word can mean next day or next week. If I assume Wednesday as the next day, then all other options will automatically be wrong because the time should be within the 24 hours range. So, it should be next week.

@Naadan_Parinda No actually I am not talking about Wednesday issue, I am assuming by next Wed(8days) it can be 24h +12 min late which will appear as 12 min to us only.

However, seeing the other 3 options It should be delayed by less than 24 h ie 12 min only and ans should be (d) then.

Thankfully, in CSAT the commission has never put difficult choices in aptitude questions. This is the point I have always tried to make.

So those people weak in CSAT can see that why solving maths type problems is the best approach.

Yes, it's the safer bet.

According to me, in order to be 24h+12min late, it will take (16* ((24*60)+12)/24) days i.e 968 days.

Correct me if I'm wrong.
