CSE 2022: Plan/ Strategy/ Daily Routine

This is an everything thread for all stuff 2022. You can post your daily goals, end-of-the-day updates, weekly targets or any weird thing you use to measure your progress. You can put into words & post the soul-sucking sadness that is threatening to devour you & your productivity. You can write what made your day & let others experience the happiness too, at least vicariously. This is a thread to pick each other up. This is a thread to keep each other accountable. This is a no-judgement zone.

--------

“This is one more piece of advice I have for you: don't get impatient. Even if things are so tangled up you can't do anything, don't get desperate or blow a fuse and start yanking on one particular thread before it's ready to come undone. You have to realize it's going to be a long process and that you'll work on things slowly, one at a time.”

Is there anyone who is facing the dilemma of moving out for studies or staying at home ......

I have all privacy n luxuries to prepare with no disturbance at home ......but at times I feel m way too comfortable here n lacking competition ...dat results in  procrastination

Basically when m all focused concentrated n able to give my 💯 (which is mostly when exam is near)then I feel it's the best to stay here only

Earlier I thought of moving out fr sure after prelims because at times I feel very much isolated n pressurized (since not left with any social life ....not even friends )

Any suggestions ?

Hi I have been going through similar to what you are feeling.

So addressing dilemma part.

Do things which make you accountable and keep your competitive spirit tickling. It can be anything moving out of home to prepare, going to library, making friends from upsc group and studying together, posting here, any ypt like stuff anything. Objective should be to keep you on your toes. You can try combination of things like moving out and joining library or joining library posting targets here etc etc.

Addressing your being alone part.

When you will move out there is noone to make you study it has to be you. You will have to ultimately sit put your head down and study noone is going to say hey titanium why are you procrastinating come and study with me. This is sad reality of being an adult.

Philosophical angle to it. When its time to rise you are left alone. Have you seen a rocket accompanying satellite in its orbit? Embrace isolation and don't get comfortable and find comfort zone in preparation. Keep challenging and keep hustling.

P.S. Thoda jyada gyan baji ho gyi. Sorry ATB

Only a few days are left of SFG. Have not done enough answer writing practice for optional and GS preparation also lacks behind. To appear for mains prelims has to be cleared but to become IAS mains has to be awesome.

It sucks balancing all these things

Hello people, is there anybody who is/has aligned their preparation as per prelims way? Please pm if you are looking forward to discuss the same and have an accountability while studying at home. I am actually looking to have that peer group which is hardly possible in this preparation from home times.

Hello people.

Have been preparing from home for 1 year, was thinking to move to Delhi for writing offline mains tests in January, would it be advisable or I should go with online tests only.

Shower some lights :D

Hi everyone!

I failed three prelims due to lack of serious preparation. I am willing to give everything in this attempt. And also I am a working professional. Looking for a study partner to push me out of my comfort zone and you can expect the same from my side.

I live in Bangalore, I will be glad if the other person is from Bangalore itself.

Thank you :)

@Wordsmithyy I haven't written any mains so take what I say with a pinch of salt. If you are giving your attempt in 2022 then you might not have enough time to focus on mains since everyone suggests that we need to give 4-5 months for prelims. You can always shift to Delhi post prelims, a lot of people do it to get the exam like environment :)

Failing in prelims gave me a good jolt. That shame I felt on the night of October 10th after I tallied my answers with answer keys, it had some good utility. But that shame is fading away and I miss it.

Last two months weren't bad but they weren't great either. But then, when I set such unrealistic targets, I think nothing will ever be great enough. A lot more could have been done but the past is like that google doc for which you have no editing rights, only have viewing rights. And even the data you are allowed to view is being corrupted every single second.

I have been sick for the last few days with suboptimal productivity irking me like a think blanket with thousand holes on a cold night. Used it as an excuse to read some other stuff. This also gives a good completion point to the first phase of my 2022 attempt.

For the next two months, I am trying to mix pre and mains. PSIR has to be done, tests to be given including some backlog tests, ethics & GS FLTs. In addition, one prelims revision of core subjects & solving any pending prelims tests. That should be the second phase.

To declutter the mind, I must first declutter my physical space. So, will do a little safai, especially of my desk which is suffering under the weight of everything I have studied in the past two months. Like, its some kind of archeological thing. The top-most layer of the books tell you what I have studying recently. The bottom most books are those that I was studying sometime in the last few months but just didn't care enough to revise.

Have been trying to stay away from telegram-- my final frontier of distractions. The mann (the mind) has been less chanchal (turbulent or hyperactive) & as the old bollywood song goes, less random. Might as well throw away my phone in the dustbin. 2022 me padhai ke siva karna hi kya hai?

New beginnings :)
