Can a group be made for weekly essay practice and reviewing?
I know there are lot of issues involved while forming such groups. But, if there is any such group or you people are interested in forming such a group, do add me. Or should I join a test series to improve my essay writing ?

Did you personally like Vikram Grewal’s essay copies ?
Because personally I could never understand them and always wondered why everyone is crazy for his essays ?
I read some of his essays, he (atleast whatever I saw) has plethora of quotes, theories and use nearly a new one in every next para. May be due to vast reading (he is a writer or may be due to optional- I don't know what it is) he can such things. But for general audience they are hard to understand. Sometimes I can't relate things, he has written, to the topic of the essay (possibly due to my ignorance or lack of knowledge).
I personally followed Anudeep's + looked various other copies. Then came out with own style, which is very basic one.
Got 131 in 2019 (though not very good), but sticking to the topic and using simple language helped me.
+ realizing limitations is important, everyone can't write like any particular topper
+ try to figure out what different thing you can provide, for me- it is making a simple story for most of the topics and utilising my optional (Hindi literature)
Can you help in Philosphical essays.. We prepare themes for essay but this year section 1 was full of philosophical topics. Anything torefer for such essay?
Can give only few suggestions:
Choosing the topic is of utmost importance, There is plenty of time in essay paper, (relatively)
before reading essays from the toppers' copies, try to write upon that topic first, the compare (There won't be any choice to choose here, whatever topic that copy contain you have to write that, so basically when there will be option to choose it will become easier task)
instead of writing whole essay (as of now), just try to make frameworks, so that in 1 hr you brainstorm for 2-3 topics, can write whole if you feel so
PS: I don't know which essay was more scoring for me in 2019 attempt, Didn't write 2020, never joined any test series for essay, no person was there to evaluate my copies, I was my critic. (never knew before the marksheet came, if my essays were upto the mark (even for 120+) or not )
till date literally I have never seen anyevaluatedessay copy (no exaggeration), copies I have seen were written ones (Abhi Vikas Ranjan wale telegram pe hi dekhunga, for the first time ), so don't know how essays are evaluated, atleast by coachings (I just relied on feel good vibes after writing something )

In fact, the pinned comment on this thread, painstakingly curated by@AzadHindFauz , is the one stop solution for mains related stuff. Every GS Paper had their own thread. It's a good repository of accumulated knowledge. One can go thru that repeated doubts.

PSIR folks, wanna team up for quality enrichment for 2021?
I gave Mains this year and strongly felt that Shubhra Ma'am's content requires urgent value addition.
This is what I propose. We give about 2 weeks each to P1A, P2A, P1B and P2B in that order and brainstorm the structure/content of PYQs, targeting at least the last 10 years. We will also take up GS eventually once things smoothen out for PSIR.

Follow my strategy.
Don't write any essay.Just see topper copies.In this way you will be original in the exam and originality is rewarded.
Go in exam with a blank mind as if you have'nt studied anything.
When you make frameworks,write essays beforehand trust me you lose out(I lost out last year due to this).
This year I went with a blank mind.0 essays written.
And in exam in ships essay I could start with macauly real life story,quoted recent corona examples,gandhi sins,namaste london film and could conclude with another poem made on the spot in exam.
In patriarchy essay,again could invent a poem on the spot in the exam about patriarchy being not visible still being present,could quote gargi,razia sultana.Write about deepika padukone and indira gandhi and other usual stuff like data,policies and could divide essay using subheadings like Lighting Candles of equality.Concluded with a nehru quote.
All of this could be done as mind was'nt occupied by advises or frameworks.
Wrote whatever I felt and in whatever way I felt was right.
Although marks are still not out,I am hopeful of atleast scoring above average if not the topmost marks.
