Am I the only chomu who got so excited reading the podcast discussion that they immediately got a Spotify subscription, only to see the comment about the free google app a few minutes later, and then the length of those podcasts a few more minutes later? :pOne does not simply buy a Spotify subscription. The ideal way is to be a complete cheapskate and use the free plan and to put up with the annoying ads they play after literally every 3 songs. :P
I put up with it while listening to songs but I thought when one is chasing knowledge kanjoosi beech mein nai aani chahiye :(
Fortunately, Spotify doesn't put ads inside podcast episodes. So you can easily listen to a 3 hour episode with no ad breaks.

Celeborn,@Villanelle Pro tip: Open it in the browser, there's no ads whatsoever :c (Assuming everyone has a free adblock add-on ofc).
Another one. Let me also give a piece of tech-savvy advice :p ( a rare moment for me)
1.To get rid of ads in the browser- Dump Google Chrome. Use Brave browser. No need to install any ad-ons or blocker.
2.To get rid of in-app ads-
- Go to "connection & sharing" in settings on your phone
- Select Private DNS mode
- Enter this under the Private DNS provider hostname-dns.adguard.com
- Save it.

Areh with podcasts it only gets better since you don’t get any ads b/w a particular episode so you are good for as long as the episode lasts, which is obviously much longer than the duration for songs.
But koi na, ab le liya hi, toh enhanced user experience ke maze lo :P

Aaj kal Spotify wale aur aage badd gaye. They put annoying ads that make fun of their previous annoying ads. Alag levels of creative torture.

Regarding spotify
-there's crack apk(android users only) which is completely ad free. Only downside is, you will have to use almost 2 year old app ui
- you can try Spotify family a try. It costs just 30/- per month when you've 6members. I'm currently using it, switched from cracked apk version. Kinda worth 30/- per month
As of google podcasts, I think it provides more possibility to explore the similar podcasts. While browsing in spotify, podcasts kinda gets diluted due to the overwhelming focus on songs. A dedicated app for podcasts is always better.

You can check out All Things Policy. Its episodes are usually less than half an hour long.
There are other current affairs podcasts like The Big Story, which I haven't listened to but are quite well known.
I haven't listened to many policy related podcasts so can't recommend more. My interests are more football related or philosophy related.
