Hello people,
My first post here. Returning to UPSC & Forum, after a looonng break. I belong from the time when Forum was active on Orkut groups. Old timer, yeah !!
So, 2021 will be my attempt. So,fingers crossed. Let's hope for the best!
Starting work tomorrow. Will post daily routines.
P.S: Hello Neyawn. Nice to see you here!
#(Friends with "BikerGuy") 😉
The forum 2021 session yesterday was an eye opener.
The most important takeaway was follow the exam calendar. Prepare for MAINS now.
So, Today I will prepare broad MONTHLY targets for next 3 months and convert them into WEEKLY targets, to fix resources, subjects and topics to be done till december.
And start implementing my plan from tomorrow.
(I need to balance UPSC 2021 and State PCS mains syllabus till December)
Have a great day Friends.

'किस पथ से जाऊँ?' असमंजस में है वह भोलाभाला,
अलग-अलग पथ बतलाते सब पर मैं यह बतलाता हूँ
'राह पकड़ तू एक चला चल, पा जाएगा मधुशाला।'।
AWFG test was a pretty Intriguing exercise. Baaki ke targets achieved 70%
11/10/20: 89 days to mains and1 week since prelims
High time we shrugged off any kind of complacency and got down to business. I still see people speculating answers on that Prelims thread. Some get aggressive too. Makes me sad. They are clearly missing the larger picture. khaer.. में कौन होता हूँ !
1. Population Geo test.
2. Active Recall : All the subjects / portions covered in the past three days.
Have a good one folks !
Pretty Satisfying day yesterday. rewarded myself with a beer and some FLEABAG on prime video yesterday night.
12/10/20: 88 days to mains.

Seeing so many people get back to business, my Heart has begun to pound again - but with vibes of positivity. The heat is on I guess. Have a great day folks. Cheers to the spirit of this thread.

anyone of anthro optional?
plz tell me the book sources and classes,i have the videos of sosin mam
I have Anthro as my optional ! I did not join any coaching or test series so cant say much about sosin mam videos , for sources pick up a basic material either Braintree or Munirathnam they help you in giving a gist of the syllabus !
Social Anthro mostly done from Braintree itself ! (Not many concise sources available for this part )
For Physical part go for P NATH !
For Indian Anthro book by Nadeem Hasnain !
Tribal Anthropology is pretty generic , Sachin gupta or Mandar Patki sir's notes would suffice !
For theories try to have a broad understanding from any book( I did them from Braintree ).
The most important part being the answer writing and the structuring part , keep referring to Anthropology Simplified and some toppers answer copies constantly so that you dont go on reading irrelevant things !
Having said all this , these are the things I've been doing and they are not foolproof as I have not given Mains yet !
If you find something petty just leave it aside and go with your gut feeling !
HAVE A NICE DAY :-)

- todays hindu editorial- When Dr. Jonas Salk came up with a polio vaccine that was approved for the general population to use, he refused to patent it. When asked who owns the patent, his answer was this. “Well, the people, I would say,” he told journalist Edward R. Murrow in 1955. “There is no patent. Could you patent the sun?”
Have been a silent reader since long. Love the vibe on this thread. Thank you amazing people.
Prelims 2020's got me to speculate and waste boatloads of time this past week. Well, just the usual yearly borderline issues I guess. But this is the first attempt and irrespective of clearing the exam or not, it's time to get mains prep done. So here it goes,
- Optional Revision: 1st Chapter (1/2)
- Ethics Consolidation (1/4)
- Answer Writing
And so my watch begins :')
Not the first day I would have wanted. But counting on the something is better than nothing principle!
Could not touch ethics today. Answer writing has finally started after a long break of 3-4 months. Optional needs more time to achieve the targets.
Tomorrow:
- Optional revision: Finish 1st Chapter (2/2)
- Ethics Consolidation (1/4)
- Answer Writing
12/10/2020
- Woke up at 5 am and went for a walk.
- Daily chores
- Newspaper (6:00-7:00)
- Optional Revision and synopsis making (7:00-10:00 and 11:00- 12:30)- Geomorphology (1/4)
- Rest (12:30-2:30)
- World History (2:30-4:00)- made notes of Renaissance and Absolutism in Europe.
- Optional class (4:00-7:00)
- Rest+ IPL (7:00-8:30)
- CA issues
Today I Learnt (TIL):
- Theories based on Endogenetic forces (CDT, PTT, etc)
- Renaissance and Absolutism in Europe, and India at that time.
- Evolution of Dalit/low caste politics in India.
- Brain-Computer interface (BCI): its possible applications, concerns etc.
- Risk weighted loans to be rationalised and to be linked with Loan to Value (LTV) ratio.
Aaj Optional kuchh jyada ho gaya. Tomorrow focus will be more on World history.
