@whatonly Amazing!

You should be awarded an MBA degree just for this write up.

Thank you for this.

Still in post-prelims inertia, unable to start anything. Had set a schedule since 13th but unable to keep up with sheer volume of work to be done. Don’t know how you guys are managing. Posting my first schedule today:

world history notes- 3 hrs

post independence consolidation- 3hrs

awfg- 1 hr

lets hope things pan out well today. Hoping to get much needed momentum going.

my question to you guys is how you’re keeping yourself self motivated and avoiding procrastination during the day. Thanks

Don't get overwhelmed by the amount of work. Just do things one by one, but maintain the overall balance of syllabus portions. First para me sheer vol of work likha hai aur last para me procrastination ka zikr hai. They are self contradictory, nahi?. Stress me lagte ho.

One one item of syllabus coming, stress going. Next point of syll coming, further stress going. Simple hai yar. :)

joy and enthusiasm amongst the combatants at all time is a strong indication of victorious side.

P.s. ye joy vali baat vaise toh mahabharat me bhishma yudhishthir ko kehte hai, lekin maine whatsapp pe padhi thi. 😋😁

Thanks man. Actually what you point out as self-contradictory is exactly how the mind of a master procrastinator works. There’s a whole ted talk about it on YouTube. But I get what you mean, doing things one step at a time and like@whatonly mentioned, breaking stuff up into it’s fundamentals and trying to accomplish as much as is possible, is the only solution to keep moving ahead and dismantling the inertia.

Is it the one with the instant self-gratification monkey?

The best! The best! :D

Also, I love the culture of this forum, where faceless, nameless people can freely share whatever is holding them down, and there is an ever reliable community which has their back. It's beautiful. Much love to you guys. :)

Had to do some unexpected travel. Missed out on the targets yesterday.

Tomorrow:

  1. Optional: Try to finish Chapter 2
  2. Ethics Consolidation
  3. Answer Writing

Need to figure out ways of balancing optional and GS to ensure holistic coverage.

Today was better, but lots more to be done if I've to stay in the game.

Things done today:

  • Answer Writing & Review
  • Optional Chapter 1&2
  • Current Affairs

Tomorrow:

  • Finish Optional Chapter 2
  • Answer Writing & Review
  • START Ethics again!

Have procrastinated enough on ethics. Need to face the red book tomorrow.

Just some words that keep me going, "A Psalm of Life" by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Life is real! Life is earnest!

   And the grave is not its goal;

Dust thou art, to dust returnest,

Was not spoken of the soul.

Not enjoyment, and not sorrow,

   Is our destined end or way;

But to act, that each to-morrow

   Find us farther than to-day.

So, looks like I am not the only one struggling to complete targets.

Only somehow finished one topic of optional today. (that too without doing PYQ).

Now I have got a good idea (thanks to @Tara16 ) to go slow and absorb the topics well to get going initially.

Will also try to optimize my study sessions as per my needs (thanks to @whatonly 's tips).

So target for 16/10 :--

Just try to do:

1) all questions on Plato and Aristotle

2) Newspaper + Essay

3) Use rest of the time to revisit my plan for next couple of months and make necessary changes acc. to reality.

Have a great day friends.

15/10

1. Went on an online shopping spree. That time of the year is here.

2. Made notes on 2 topics of GS1.

3. Feeling exhausted from last 2-3 days due to fever. So slept for like 14 hrs. Yes, that is possible.

Though never bothered on clocking more hours but this is like really less given the amount of work.

Brain is like:

hum karte hein prabandh Pankaj Tripathi mirzapur meme

So, the schedule begins to get that flow

16/10

1) GS 1.7 to 1.10

2) Geography: topics correlated with 1) - Highlights from Majid Hussain+ Khullar

3) GS4 8.3 to 8.6 + GS2.16 (similar topics)

4) Answer writing: 3 GS+ 2 Geography

5) Vision August CA: topics from above themes.

6) Yoga- Parents feel my brain will damage if I won't. So yeah why not.

As Trump would say, "Believe me, its gonna be huge(yuge?)" :P

Could not complete the PSIR part yesterday. Spilled over to today's morning session. So, the day starts effectively at 12 noon.

  • PSIR: Prepare Short Notes: 1B (9, 10, 11)
  • World History: 2 Hours
  • Ethics: Attitude (1 Hour)
  • Culture: 2 Q-A

Note to self: Come what may, this time you are not going to be over-whelmed.

It was an over-estimated target for a truncated day. Could do only PSIR 1B (9) and Culture.

Target for today:

1. Remaining PSIR short notes for Sec Test 2

2. Revise PSIR notes for Sec Test 1

3. Culture: 2 Q-A

4. World History + AWG: 3 hours

5. Ethics: Attitude: 1 hr

Never overestimate a day, never under estimate a month: Neyawn

Could finish only the PSIR short notes making part. par koi baat nahin, jitna hua accha hua. kuch to hua, bas aise hi har din hote rehna chahiye. Summation of small kuch kuch will lead to Bahut kuch!

Target for Today:

1. PSIR Section Test: Revise the portion and Appear

2. Revise the PSIR Notes made yesterday

3. World History: 3 Hour

4. Culture: 2 Q-A

Note to self: Every single time before my exams, all my friends and family members start having life crisis of their own (silly ones). This time, all such mega events in other lives can wait. Cater to only the statutory requirements!

slot 2: Art n culture (1/3)

Slot 3 : Philo empiricism

Slot 4: pyq philo

P.s. I really don't know how to handle CA. I just have no time in my day to read even a newspaper, and then my heart wants to do "issue based" current affairs and it's "notes" too, and then for 2years as well!

Pss: "integrated way me CA taiyar karo" , ye likhna bhul gya tha. Itni glossy assholery market me.

Psss: pehle kitna simple rakhte the log, for current read hindu. From editorials make opinion.
