@Neyawn Sir, please help. I have the same problem. My EWS certificate was issued on 16.3.19 whereas the cutoff date (as per UPSC notification) is 03.3.19. The designated officer was on leave so the whole process got delayed. To resolve this I was provided with an acknowledgement slip dated 02.3.19(which is just a day before the cutoff date). I was told by the circle officer that I can show the acknowledgement slip's date and get the benefits.
Should I use the acknowledgement slip's issue date for filling the date of EWS certificate? Or should I visit the UPSC facilitation centre to change my category back to general? Please help.

dont waste the opportunity..you have strong case..you will be considered ews if not by upsc then definitely by court..go to upsc and submit written representation..and submit the form with 'yes' option.

Brother, as far as I know, if you are not treated as EWS, you will anyway be as General. So apply as EWS only. In case something goes wrong, then you will be anyway treated as General.
So no need to change category.
Chill mark brother or padhai karo.

+1 This is what has happened so far for people who applied in OBC non creamy layer and if upsc finally decided that they are creamy, they were treated as general. No cancelation of candidature and all.
But yes, by any chance if you are treated as general, you will have to clear all stages - prelims , mains as per general category.
Prepare for Mains. Do not bother over this much now.
Hiii
Actually my EWS certificate is issued by Circle officer of Deoghar , Jharkhand .
Not as per upsc ,they don't consider circle officer (anchal adhikari)as a competent authority to issue such certificate....
What should I do now ?
Just a few days left to fill my DAF 1 ..
Please guide me in this regard ..
@मुसाफिर wht abt those who lrdy filled up the form, whts new update?
changes made in daf will not affect any ews candidate who had his/her certificated issued prior to 3rd march 2020..so no problem if you already fillled..chill
