@Menchester14@ Do not worry too much...Last year UPSC accepted an EWS certificate from the circle officer (in the case of Bihar, in the case of Jharkhand they did not because there he is not a competent authority).....Do not know how CAPF works but if any issue UPSC will ask you to get a new certificate after the interview.

@Matrigupta thanks for update. I belong to Jharkhand and my certificate is issued by Circle Officer. I also have a certificate issued by DM. But that is dated much after the closing date (3rd March).

@मुसाफिर when will it be clear whether one is selected in OM or EWS (for prelims)? if perchance one is selected in EWS and does not posses EWS certificate for DAF will he be able to sit in mains 2020
@zahidpr No, he won't be given chnace to write mains..and maost probably it will be clear when admit card comes..

Friends , seniors , pls help me out
I was ineligible for ews in 2019 - 2020, as my asset was above the limit.
Last year as a part of a settlement, we gave some portion of our asset to my paternal uncle.( It was transferred as a gift to reduce tax )
So now I'm eligible for ews .I got my certificate from tehsildar .
If I apply now in ews ,will upsc suspect me that I transferred my asset purposefully so as to get elibility and reject it ???
Pls help me on this friends. I am confused whether to apply in ews or not??
@Neyawn sir I have the EWS certificate of the financial year 2019-20 so do I need to get it made for the year 2020-21 but that would only be valid till April this year
