Now that 1 week is over, it is time to shift focus to Mains. With barely 103 days left there is no time to waste.
If I can butt into the conversation. The following two factors are absolutely unrealted to the actual marks you score in any paper :
- How many questions you have attempted in any paper (provided you haven't left out a large chunk of paper, say 40% of it.)
- Whether in your SUBJECTIVE opinion, you have attempted any question satisfactorily.
You will always be surprised. You score high in papers where you fucked up and vice versa especially in initial attempts where you are yet to get a hang of what UPSC wants and a plethora of online materials and guides is actively trying to brainwash you. And NO, your marks in Vision or vajiram/Sairam/Gangaram tests are not at all a good proxy for your real marks.
@Champak, attesting the last part of your comment, I received 52 marks in 19q in gs2 full length vision, 15 days before the Mains and finally got 107. A friend of mine recieved 95 in same paper and finally got 92.
Man upsc is full of surprises. Year was 2017.

Bought Vision TS 15 days back.. Was thinking i am superman.. will put 16 hours everyday and do TS also.. Sadly!! Still lying in polybag and looking at me !!
@STIsse achha to 1 din ka gap hota tha. 5 din ke jhaanse mei kuch dhang se padhai nahi hui
I agree. The whole point of UPSC exams seems to be to check how you perform under mentail drain and exhaustion. It makes sense considering that after selection, 90% of the time you are taking decisions under uncomfortable and suboptimal conditions. 1 day breaks simulate these conditions perfectly. In 5 day gaps, we all get too relaxed.
@ChampakIs weed available in ORN ?
@K_9Bhai.. sirf hamari hi nhi hui dhang se yaa baakiyo ki bhi..Kyunki sirf agar hamne hi chutiya katwaya toh na...
