@Dreadful
Jis Tarah se prelims ka difficulty level badh raha na.....mujhe to ye exam kisi bhi tarah se general nahi lagta .....even deep understanding is need of the hour.... for example economic cost of FCI, AMR,RNA, Tansen, Agasthamalay BR and its sanctuaries, Nettle, Liberty, future Buddha, remote sensing chlorophyll mapping, etc.

@DKTI read both TH and IE for 2019 pre. After giving paper I found both of them overrated for pre(they are very useful for mains). Whatever I scored to clear pre was due to insights and Vision CA booklets and some grip at statics and some tukkas gone right.

But the current affairs of vision and insights are mainly based on THE HINDU, INDIAN EXPRESS and PIB
i agree with u that guess work play crucial role .....now UPSC asks current affairs of last 2-3 years hence difficult for new aspirants also increasing questions from medieval and ancient history makes prelims more difficult

@DKTi think 2019 prelims was good for repeaters n 2018 was neutral for both first timers as well as first timers. In 2019 prelims question paper was more conceptual. Also many current affairs questions were not current. They r now asking questions related to events back to 2-3 years which i think was good for repeaters

The tukkas , so called guess work n elemination, you could mark because of knowledge from newspapers you read everyday. That knowledge in one's backdrop will unknowingly help in deciphering 3-4 questions. I feel reading newspaper helps in both prelims n mains.

Hi Guys,
My contribution towards 'insider news': Have contacted a clerical level guy in UPSC (lives near my home), and he has said that ews is the reason for delay, and results will be out only after 3rd jan.
Having said this, we all know that nothing can be said with surity.

@abhishek_pI think the key to clearing prelims in current form is to remain mentally calm on the d day. In that case, guesses tend to be more intelligent and correct. I really don't think that reading too many sources is the need of the hour.

Also, the ones who say newspapers have become too important in prelims are the ones who see some information pertaining to the question on a random page of The Hindu. Aise to hazaaron cheezein aati Hain newspapers mein. You can't read and research all of them because questions are never from some direct fact written in newspaper.

Yar examples to bulls eye wale Quote kiya hai ki examiner ki conscience ko hit kare directly ab dekho kitna marks milta hai... vaise three digit expect kar raha hu ....

sabse jyada mahabharat ka example hi likha hai aur british exploitation in india ka ..like crisis of conscience wale me ARJUN ka, non performance of duty by a public servant me Dhritrashtra ka ( being a king he couldn't stop draupadi robe , nepotism in decision making )

In Quote questions added different- different examples ( like in question "man is but a product of his thoughts" ....I quoted examples of two PM during famine / food crisis )

like when famine occurred in Bengal in 1942 indian leaders requested British govt...to distribute the food to poor.....but British PM Churchil said there is no famine in india....why hasn't Gandhi died yet. And grains produced by indian farmers sent to foreign soil where british were fighting in world War 2 .

Example of indian PM ... during food crisis in india at the time of Lal bahadur shashtri ....he requested to indians to do fast in a day ....he requested the same to his family to skip dinner. ...even PM used to eat once in a day.

agar result itna late(5 jan ka baad) ho raha hai to interviews(and then results) aur pre k beech gap to kaafi kam ho jaega. cuz is bar interviews bhi late shuru hoenge as UPSC DAF 2 k liye atleast 15-20 days degi, fir time table and all...so latest 15-20 feb se start ho sakta he..
Agar worst case scenario wala case hua to 2020 ka pre to gaya...
kya karna chahiye abhi....done with movies and time pass stuff, it is my first attempt so I seriously dont have any idea what to do now...and there is no one to guide...so experienced log apni apni rai dijiye.?

@DKTExcellent. Now I need to reduce some marks from the presumed figure in ethics paper.
