Mains 2019 Preparation and Discussion Thread
Now that 1 week is over, it is time to shift focus to Mains. With barely 103 days left there is no time to waste.
@pysh12950I am trying my luck only once after putting as much efforts as I can.Post that I will leave the cycle as I have other important things also in life.I believe 1 exam should'nt dictate a person's life..

@pysh12950Many have cleared this exam but not making it as the sole aim of their life.They have managed it with job,marriage,studies etc. and many others will do it in future.If exam is not the sole aim of life the pressure on person reduces and she/he can think much clearly and this exam is as much about knowledge as about performing without pressure and keeping a clam mind..
But every person is different,u may do it the different way than im.SoI respect what u r also doing and u should respect what i m doing..
@pysh12950Pata nahin hona aur phone mein daalana r 2 different aspects.And yes debating fruitlessly with others for an hour or half is the only fun in mylife.Sowhenever I get bored I come here.
But now I believe i should leave forum as instead of fruitful debates people here r even questioning if i have given the exam.

I still believe u need to put limit on the number of attempts else one gets wasting many years in the prime of her life.
And if u r never sure of clearing the exam u aren't doing it right.
That feeling only comes if one has gone beyond one's capabilities in prep phase.
And I still respect yo yo choti singh because of his devotion to a single cause in life.I would never have waited post 35 exams and 5 attempts personally..
Aur haan hum aur galiyan khaane ke liye tayar hain.
And don't give me the gyaan that this exam will make u humble etc.
Agar exam humble banate to exam pass karna ke baad toppers youtube par itni lambi lambi nahin fekte aur na hi rishwat lete hue pakde jaate aur nahi cheating karte hue aur nahi apni girlfriend ko dokha dete hue (2 ips 2018) aur nahi 1 crore ki dowry lete hue..
Sab 104 rank ki nhi maante. Many people are quite rational like u.
I agree that many a youth spend lots of productive time in case preparation. BUT MY POINTS ARE :
NOT all youth in this country are lucky enough to have graduated from IITs IIMs NITs or big colleges. So hme nhi lagta ki opposite side hoke bhi hum crores kma lete ya patents k record bna dete.
Why CSE only ? - bcz it's the only exam in this country which gives u a fair opportunity to become Finance Secy of the country with only few thousands rupees in ur pocket ! Majority of those who toil for long years are not progenies of elites but humble backgrounds ones.
Don't tell me the silly argument that someone who have joined some BIG LALA JI and earned few crores in so called PRIME AGE and done anything great for the nation ! I know ppl who left 2 crores+ CTC jobs for this exam as they felt non-satisfied there. !
Giving multiple years to this exam is not so easy task to mock at. It requires extreme patience and dedication and HARD WORK . That should be respected.

IMO Failing in CSE is much better than qualifying many other exams or entrances in our country.
I have seen talented people spending 30+ years in private or other sectors regretting their life choices after retiring ! So u never know WHAT IS TRUE WASTAGE !
Your viewpoint is respected but DONT CONSIDER IT AS UNIVERSAL TRUTH. Respect others toil. That's least expected from a matured soul.

Harsh fact is society judges you on the number of years spent on CSE, what@bevancomis saying is the common perception, so I don't think it's fair to be hostile towards him.
@bevancomi guess u have asked how to delete forum account for atleast 5-6 times now.....IIT n IIM wale ho bhai...this is a very easy thing to figure out.

- People always go against those who say something against common perception.
- I have realized why so many people hate cristiano ronaldo or muhammad ali or the australian cricket team.
3)I have realized I should have never joined forum(which I did in november) - I should leave forum forever.

@bevancomNo disrespect for anyone's decision or anyones maturity or lack of it - But I feel that, when one spend four or five years in exam or exhaust all attempts doesn't mean he has wasted his youth or prime time.
Life has its own timing. If one feels giving multiple attempts make him/her closer to a goal, one can go for it.
UPSC is a great leveller. Someone may get selected in state psc and do there job well.
If one doesn't get anything out of this preparation, one doesn't become unsuccessful. As you may fail in first attempts (god forbid this may never happen) this doesn't mean you are a failure.
Though A strong respect for you - you have a good sense of what you want in your life, your decision making and responsibility around it .
I disagree on one point - you say if you fail by one mark and never give this exam again. This is like you wish to allow someone else to take your seat in next attempt.

Agree. His views must be respected. Some years ago we all may have been like him. Infact I accept that I myself considered 3+ attempt giving people as fools when I entered in this dicey game. But later I realised that there are so many variables that many victors could have been would-be losers and vice versa. So respect turned from better ranks to better hard workers. Baaki jo 1st attempt m kar rhe h they are definitely SMARTER. But this doesn't give anyone a license to discredit others. Whether qualified or yet to be qualified for long !
Baaki frustration peak pe h kisi ka koi dosh nhi. Enjoy the Winter WAIT comrades. And Don't leave forum. Keep venting ur anxieties here iska apna mjaa h
