Mains 2019 Preparation and Discussion Thread
Now that 1 week is over, it is time to shift focus to Mains. With barely 103 days left there is no time to waste.
meanwhile, why no one should underestimate anyone. Especially when someone is having rough patch or taking years to succed.

No offense to how people comment or how they react. Power Nd energy of response lies with us.

@bevancomwhen i started preparing even i thought to nail it in one go. Luckily with job i cleared mains in 2017 in my first attempt, and i found the exam was very easy and was over proud as well on my capabilities. But i couldn't get final selection. But started again in 2018 with full force. Again got interview call and gave my best even in interview with 190+ score, i missed final after reserve with one Mark. In 2019 again i had to appear, i was fully exhausted and i developed immense respect for repeaters because they fought their inertia. I guess u too will feel that. The exam is of time and luck. So both changes. We must respect everyone's journey and better to respect their perseverance and enjoy the afeem
With all due respect, sometimes forum exhibits mob mentality. Elevating one to a legend and relegating the other to misery over an argument. It is akin to a debate where the audience cheers one speaker and boos the other. That is why a generous host asks the audience to be civil even when any side makes apparently ludicrous claims. Don't cast aspersions on anyone's character and make him sore for his argument. Arguments come and go, but we live all the while.
People have said,abused and did whatever they wanted to.If I would have been overconfident I would have hurled and said about my prep before the exams and not after I would have written mains.
I have always trusted my capabilities and because of this trust and confidence I have been successful in whatever exams I have written(I don't have ashirwad of mandal or of sc/st tag and neither of ews).
To those who r doubting my credentials I was the one who posted my marksheet 1st and even posted my cat,xat and iift marksheet when people asked me to.
I still stand by my words that I was'nt aware of syllabus,number of pages or number of questions in my 1st attempt and managed to score decent.
I trust myself,my hardwork and my capabilities and will forever do so irrespective of what people say here or anywhere as I have always done things the way I wanted to and not the way others said me to.
Will open this site and login to my account only after I clear the exam.That is confidence in the hard work I have put in not talking in open air..
And to those who keep saying this exam can't be cleared in 1 attempt there r people with positive outlook who have done it in the past and will do so in the future because unlike people here they believed they can clear it in 1st serious attempt.
Will come back here again only after I clear this exam.......JAI BAJRANG BALI......
And don't elevate those who clear the exam to gods.There are many other exams in the country equally or more tougher than upsc and many have cleared those and will also clear upsc.......

Many young achievers who have achieved much more than him both monetary and Non monetary wise are sitting silently here and doing their work diligently... He is a classic case of attention seeking syndrome who always behave in such a way of either boastfulness of their achievement Or whine about their loss just to make people look at them... it reflect lack of self confidence and self esteem on these guys part which is the reason for them to reinforce their past achievement to people always to survive every second... I agree. We MUST respect new lines of thought. Infact I don't think anyone would have bothered had he remained in self confidence mode. "I will get a Rank 1 in 1st attempt whatsoever people say" is very much acceptable and commendable. line of thought. The only issue I tried to raise was that we should also be respectful towards those who done it later after multiple attempts or couldn't done it even after 6 attempts - simply because not all are equal footed + so many variables in this game. That's it. Even if someone scores Rank 1 in first attempt , doesn't give him a license to discredit efforts or life choices of others who done it in fag end. He misunderstood people's resistance (mob mentality) as if people are trying to say that 1st attempt m nhi ho skta. Infact everyone knows 10%+ top rankers are freshers only. That's a respected achievement.
Still I feel UNCONDITIONAL SORRY if my comments caused hurt to anyone for whatsoever reason. BADDUA nhi leni bhai kisi ki bss. Now I also quit on the issue. Result is about the corner. Let's wait for it. Best wishes everyone.

@bevancomSo, you must have done it the "right" way and must be sure of clearing in your last and first serious attempt. Give us your roll no , we will be happy to see you in the final list.
