But I don’t think that will be the case in UPSC. My hunch is that EWS cutoffs would be more than SC and ST cutoffs. It might even be higher than OBC cutoff though not 100% sure there.

is it just me or others also think that 2018's GS-2 paper was a cakewalk if compared to 2019's ?

@TeddyWestsideexcept essay, 2018 was easier than 2019( some might disagree with me on GS1 but I think GS1 this year was not easy, bahut sochna pada that kuch ques me, readymade answer nahi the)

@suniljanbhai CMS & ESE always give strange cut offs.. Last year sc cut off was greater than Gen in cms, this year it's greater than obc
In ese, past 2-3 years, obc(mech) has been greater than gen

@abhishek_pyeah just compared both year's papers; gs-1 of 2018 had a lot of one liner questions; is baar to question padhke comprehend karne me hi time lag jaa ra tha

@TeddyWestsideit was my 1st mains. Went to exam after seeing PYQs of GS2 and thought it would go fine, could not even understand 2-3 ques in the exam hall properly

@TeddyWestsideBro,you are the right person to do predictions and along with it add few lines so as to why do you think cutoff will rise/fall!

@TeddyWestsideuspe toh aap hi prakash dalein, mai toh 2018 ki cut off ko benchmark manke chal rha tha, exam k bad pata chala '17 me cut off was 810.. Thought 800 would get me through(woh alag bat h start me target 900 tha)

CSE 2017 gave a lot of marks for Essay, GS3. This didn’t happen in 2018. That’s why the marks fell

@Caesarsc cutoff more than gen may b bcoz only 5 vacancies for sc . And it's possible in a multi tier exam Courtney age relaxations and all.

@TeddyWestsideYeah this time 2019 GS 2 was really tough even to understand what they asked in a right perspective.
For example : The Question " The long sustained image of India being supporter of oppressed and marginalised nation disappeared on account of its new found global emerging order" elaborate

Since they asked Elaborate, do we stick to just explain what they asked ?? Or should i oppose that viewpoint altogether???

Similarly, development processes, UNESCO, harmonious etc

abhi 100 din ho chuke paper ko .....ab paper dekhne me mujhe bhi easy lag raha hai but during mains exam mujhe 3-4 questions to samajh hi nahi aa rahe the....ab question dekhta hu to lagta hai ki es question ko aise likh sakta tha, esme ye intro ho sakta tha, ye body ho sakta tha, ye flowchart ho sakta tha..etc.

before GS-2 we had essay then GS-1.......my brain was overloaded with content and fetching relevant content for each question within 8-9 minutes was really difficult, challenging and herculean

Hence, brother i still feel that GS-2 was most difficult paper in last 5-6 years.
