Now that 1 week is over, it is time to shift focus to Mains. With barely 103 days left there is no time to waste.
@BGPLet's hope things wind up quickly after that.
What are the chances of UPSC winning the case?
Because in that case result will be coming faster.
@AequitasI don't know man. Over to you@AzadHindFauz
@Behemothmy job includes preparing annual budget estimates and revised budget estimates of my department, i can definitely say that downsizing of bureaucracy will reduce the salaries head of expenditure which is the single biggest head of expenditure for any govt. department. Other heads like office expenses, modernisation, official travel expenses, advertisement and publicity, and professional and special services collectively accounts for just 30 % to 35% of the expenses. Hence my answer would be option D.
@Zongmaok ok.
@John_Titordo you recommend reading it? Have only read a handful of Classics.
@AequitasYes, the verdict will be out by 11AM. As pronouncements are listed for early in the day. If UPSC wins, the result could be on the same day.
But, if petitioners win then it might take a little longer. There are different subgroups within petitioners. It appears as of now that there won't be any blanket relief. It's up to the words of wisdom of the bench to draft a simple verdict and avoid complications.
In any case, next week se aage to nahi jayega.
@BGPFair chance. It's 50:50. If you further insist, I'd give 60:40 to petitioners given the strength in their arguments.

Irrespective of age and number of attempts, we all wish to ace this examination and switch to a different phase of life. Result is around the corner. But some of us have a situation which is literally "is baar bahut kuch stake pe hai (many things are at stake) ". You want to brave the circumstances but still fear the consequences. Any of you deal with the same situation of "many things at stake"??
@John_TitorIt is one scary read. Learnt a very crucial lesson from it that intellectuals will always be bullied. Also that a good person tends to be very critical of his actions and often doubts himself. Those opposed to him lack this.
@BehemothIf the fear is not quantified in terms of adverse circumstances one may have to embrace if all goes haywire, focus and efficiency would be very tough to extract out of mind. Getting efficiency out of that little bastard is one tough art. Fear is just one construct to get around the comfort it demands of you.
I hate this characteristic of human mind. This explains why we tend to waste 15-20 days post-prelims and we are 200% efficient a week before mains.
@Behemoth
i belong to that league and i want to clear this exam with golden colours only otherwise i wont get another chance either i clear it or i will have to forget it
@sharmarajiv9888818bhai relax upsc in sab issues mein bahut liberal hai...
- The petitioners know that they haven't cleared the Gen cut off, but do not know if they have cleared the ews cut off
- UPSC knows their marks and whether they cleared ews cut off, but can't reveal as it could compromise the process
- CAT is facing a unique case, w/o any precedence
- We, the aspirants, are not sure whether to prepare for interview, improve answer writing or start revising for pre
I guess everyone is clueless in equal measure.
(Many assumptions in the post, correct if factually incorrect)
@Caesar
i think we should start preparing ca for pre and mains
wo to ultimately pdhna hi hai
Absolutely no problem. Just relax.
My friend had not written the same in his essay booklet. Despite me saying it won't affect in anyway he was worried. He didn't clear mains which further cemented his fears. Finally when marks were released he had scored in 140s. Then he repented for living in unfounded fear for months !!!!!!!!!!
I hope you don't tread the same path by making a mountain out
of a molehill.
