Last year mother wala essay I wrote on women in general without mentioning anything about motherhood. Yet got 120.

meri samajh nai aa rhi. agar 1 essay ki 75 demand hai toh bhai 8 kyun de rahe ho. 2 do na!

kya matlab h iska : they will be expected to keep closely to the subject of essay....?

youtube wale guy ho sakta h apne discretion pe check kie ho, but upsc koi "guy" se nai chalta. apne syllabus se chalega.

bro. you are creating difference when there is none. obviously whoever knew it is about motherhood would have also written on women.aur wahi usme ayega. you cant write 1000 words on motherhood. and you dont even recall what you wrote but its clearly very close to demand.

If u had a different interpretation, it would have been perfectly fine but what u r saying is that

There is only one FIXED interpretation for all topics and you cannot think anything else

Secondly

KEEPING CLOSELY TO SUBJECT OF MATTER MEANS

whatever you have interpretated be Close to that

Not to deviate much from your interpretation.

ill respond on 2nd part of your argument:

"..keeping close to subject of essay.." . at a very basic level it means that there is a certain expectation from the essay you chose. just keep close to it. write a good essay and be creative but dont deviate too much.

so as you said "whatever I interpret" has to be either "close to the demand " or "be the demand".

i dont know how i am hindering your right to argument.
